  1. Non ST elevation MI (more common than I would like)
  2. i am no expert in faking illness, i would send the im to a triage rn quicker than you can say nstemi, but should we be discussing this here? maybe private messages? is it paranoia if its true? seriously, i am very impressed with everyone trying to hone assessment skills so please help out a fellow learner by attending my online wound class for correctional nurses! here is the link to begin, good luck, i only need around 15 more correctional nurses to complete this so i can finish college (its taken almost 30 years)!! thank you! www.allnurses.com/forums/f11/help-dnp-student-looking-correctional-nurses-242888.html#post2351458
  3. Re going to church I told my mom I couldn't go during flu season, that whole hand shake peace thing, and sure enough next time I was there the priest lectured us on that very topic and ended up saying "where is your faith? If you do get deathly ill and die from going to church you will get to Heaven!" good grief.
  4. Congrats! Now you and every other correctional nurse out there can join my survey!! Thanks to the 3 who have answered and let's keep the knowledge flowing!! http://www.allnurses.com/forums/f11/help-dnp-student-looking-correctional-nurses-242888.html#post2351458
  5. Good luck w the interview! You're right the pay and benies are pretty good now and universal precautions works great in corrections just like it does in any hospital or clinic setting where we truly don't know everything about our patients. Re the 12 hour day shift that is a good question for the interview but keep an open mind if you have a bit of flexibility it might pay off in the long run...
  6. Hi Monica what a great idea! Let me find out what I need to do and check back w me next year!
  7. ...waiting to see if bikernurse gets a reply...Van Diesel?!
  8. I worked at CIW and really enjoyed it! I would have stayed but they did not get 12 hour shifts and the commute was very long...Good luck w the job application there are some very nice nurses there.
