Rejoining the Army as an LPN
Hello, I'm a 42 y/o male LPN in fairly good shape thinking of rejoining the Reg Army. I currently work in a somewhat rural area with little to no opportunity for advancement. I want to go back to school but the schools in MS make it so hard to even get in it discourages you from even wanting to attend this whole state is backasswards:eek:, besides I'm craving some life changing experiences and the peace corps doesn't do LPNs:down:. I would like to utilize the army to help pay off my student loans, further my education in the nursing field and see the world or at least some of it. Does anyone know what benefits, bonuses, rank and mos's and further schooling are offered to current civilian LPNs and or prior service? Also if anyone knows what I should ask for or request when talking to a recruiter !!! if anyone has any valuable or invaluable info please reply Thanks, Mudd

student developing solutions to help nurses prevent pressure sores
check out epi max by dermagesics a product used to treat any wound type from abrasions to stage iv . I do work pt as a TX nurse and changing to this product really cut down the amount of overhead not to mention time saving looking for supplies. The best best way not to prevent pressure sores and facility acquired wounds is good nursing care and attention to detail. :typing

What's up with TN ????
A comment from the peanut gallery:jester:. I'm a Nurse and also male, transplanted in TN from NM. I Know if you verbally assault a cop he can take you to jail. I don't see why the cops here don't act on threats in domestic cases, they are trained or at least should be, to know that each incident will escalate eventually leading to violence. Back home if the cops are called to a domestic dispute and someone is threatened the other person can press charges on them. Most of the women I've seen be abused in MS and TN and let me tell you it an outrageous amount in the 5 years I've lived here. I can't believe how few of them are not willing to press charges, boggles my mind Yes, I also agree the health care system here is substandard at least from what I'm used to. I notice quite a lot of favoritism in most of the facilities I work in anyway. I just wanted give :up:KUDOS:up: to Haunted for posting her views. I hope you to take it to the hill and get something done. Don't get me wrong I love the south and the people here but thing here are slow to change for the better that is.
