  1. Sensoria17, Congratulations on your new job! I also live in NC and have been having a hard time finding a job. Where in NC do you live? I am in Fayetteville.
  2. Hello everyone! I am a new nurse. I graduated last July. I have only worked Private duty with 1 patient and it was basically on the weekends. I haven't found a full-time job as of yet. I have had some offers, but the pay was way below the salary I am currently making and I really can't afford to take a BIG pay cut. Well, on next Tuesday I have an interview with an outpatient blood/cancer center. This will be the first LPN position for this clinic. I don't know all the duties as of yet, but I think I will be starting some IV's and drawing blood. I don't have any experience with drawing blood and I was only able to do a couple of IV's in school. Just wondering...... Do you think I will survive in this clinic and would it be smart for me to take this position if offered since I don't have much exp?? Please give me some advice.

  5. :(I feel like crying for days and running away. I took my NCLEX Pn today and I felt like I knew only about 10 answers. I ended up with 105 questions. Some of my friends had only 85 questions and passed. When my test didn't cut off at 85 I started to panic and stress. I kept telling myself that I didn't pass. I was so depressed when I walked out of that room. I feel like I should start studying now so that I can retake it. I just feel like I didn't pass! I guess I will know for sure on Saturday. Angel 97
  6. Hello everyone! I am currently in an LPN program. My second semester begins in Jan. We were told at the beginning of this 2nd semester that we will have a Pediatric calculation exam with a required score of 100%. If not you will be dropped from the program. I am sooooooooooo nervous about this. I am starting to feel that this will be the end of my dream. I can pass, but a 100% I am totally worried. Just wondering if other schools require a 100%? Also, do the instructors prepare you for this type of exam? I am now wondering how many people will pass this test. Any advice??? Angel97
  7. Hello everyone I will be starting my second semester of LPN school in Jan. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect for the 2nd semester. I was told that it would be ped's and OB. Also, I was wondering if anyone found the 2nd semester easier or harder than the 1st semester. Angel97
  8. Hello everyone! I am really excited right now. About 2 months ago I applied to my first choice school's nursing program. Well, I missed the points by 2 and was not selected. However, I was selected for my second choice college nursing program which begins in Jan 08. Well, 3 days ago my first choice college called and said that someone dropped out and that I was next on the list and the spot was mine if I wanted it. Of course I said yes. So now I will begin nursing school on Monday morning instead of waiting until Jan. I can hardly wait. So, I had to run around like a chicken with my head cut off to get registered for classes, get uniforms, books, etc. It's okay, because I am in. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect in the first semester. Is the first semester just basic nursing like bed baths, etc.? Also, I was wondering if I need to take all my books to class on the first day or what? I am so excited until I can hardly sleep. Please give advice. Angel97 :monkeydance:
  9. Thank you everybody and Congrat's to everyone!
  10. Hello everyone! I finally got my acceptance letter. I can't believe that I will be starting Nursing school in Jan. 08. I am so :balloons: excited! I am just worried about the calculation exams. Someone told me that you only have one or two chances to pass them. Hopefully, I will do well in nursing school. Angel97
  11. Hello everyone!! I am new to the forum and I just wanted to say hello. I have applied to nursing school and I am now waiting to see if I was accepted or not. If I am accepted I will begin in Jan.08. I have heard so many scary stories about nursing school. I was wondering if there is anyone that attended Sandhills Community College in NC or Central Carolina Community College in NC. I applied to Sandhills, but I missed being accepted by 3 points. I really wanted to attend this school, so I was disappointed when I found out I wasn't accepted. Central Carolina Community College was my 2nd choice. Also, people are scaring me about some type of calculation exam given every semester. I heard that if you have a 4.0 and you don't pass the calculation exam you are out of the program. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Well, sorry for asking so many questions. Angel97
