    We now pay 40 hours for three 12 hours shifts. Is this a common practice? Additionally, in the event an individual falls short of the 36 hours, we allow the application of PTO to get to the 36 hour threshold in order to get paid for 40. Again, is this a common practice? thanks. tomt

    kasha: unless you are practicing in some independent role, you don't need the insurance. check with your employer and see what coverage they provide. usually, you are an agent of your employer and they cover. tomt
