William Carey is a great school. I attended William Carey and I thought it was awesome because of the 10 week trimester system opposed to the semesters. As far as acceptance into the nursing program... They review three things: 1) GPA 2) HESI Score 3) Courses taken at William Carey. They do look at courses taken at William Carey and it is a factor with acceptance when you are transferring in from someplace else. They are not likely to accept someone who completed all prerequesites at a junior college before someone who took them at Carey. They look at the fact that your degree will be from William Carey University and this is why transfer stipulations have been placed where you have to complete so many hours at a certain university to graduate from there. Otherwise, I could go to a junior college for 3.5 years following a Harvard curricullum and take the last semester at Harvard just to say I graduated from Harvard.
