  1. Hi, I have been asked to give an inservice to the CMA's at the LTC facility that I work at. In the past year there has been an increase in med errors. The DON wants me to review the basics. They know the basics, how do I get through to them in this inservice the importance of following them all the time and not just when someone is watching. I also want this to be interesting enough to get and keep their attention. In this state the CMA's take a refresher class every 2 years. I think the facility needs to give them regular inservices on new meds, review info on frequently used meds, and other updates in the space of time between updates. I think they need to take their job more seriously, be more responsible and take pride in their position. Anyone with any ideas on content or ideas for future inservices I would love to hear from you. Thanks Donna
  2. Hi, I have been asked to give an inservice to the CMA's at the LTC facility that I work at. We have had an increase in med. errors in the past year. I need to go over the basics, though the CMA's know them and will use them when they are being monitored for med pass. I need something to get their attention and also I'd like to also maybe review a med. classification or give info on new meds. I want them to actually leave feeling they have learned something and also realize the importance of their job, to become more responsible, and take more pride in their work. Any help or suggestion for an inservice would be appreciated. Thanks, Donna
  3. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I have been working and studying the last few days. I'm of this weekend and am devoting it to studies only. I test on Tues. for NC 5. I'm always a mess the few days before an exam. I can't remember a thing, or so it seems but once I start the exam I'm ok. As for workshops, I have found that on the yahoo groups very little is mentioned about EC's workshop. It seems most of the talk is about Lynn's. I had really almost forgotten about EC's. It does make sense though to go to the one by EC since they will be giving the actual exam. When do you attend the workshop, and where are you going to take it? Donna
  4. I am using Chancellors and the Arends cd's, I am also reading from the textbooks the recommended readings. Have you gone to any of the workshops? I am thinking about signing up for Lynne's workshop in Charlotte, N.C. in July. They say the workshops fill up fast so I need to decide soon. Donna
  5. Hi, my name is Donna. I am scheduled to take NC 5 next week. My advisor told me I need to finish all the NC's by mid to late June at the latest to get a CPNE date in time to finish program within Md's cut-off date. Are you waiting to take the CPNE now? Donna, studying furiously
  6. Hello Lisa, I am now studying for my 2nd exam (Lifespan). I must admit that was in a bit of a slump following the holidays and a recent extended illness but I am now getting into it again. I just found this group and reading the post really inspires me. Donna
