  1. My job really sucks! I am an Assistant Manager for a Children Shoe Company. I work stupid hours and deal with stupid people. I do more work then the manager and get paid nothing!! I only stay because I basically can't leave because my availability sucks since I am a parent of two. My husband works over nights and I work days. I never get to see my kids. And yes, i'm going to school full time, taking 4 online classes and one class on campus. I'm glad that I finally realized what I wanted to do with my life now since I am still young. I am glad to see that rn's get paid well. So hopefully when I am done in 4-5 years my husband and I will be able to buy a house here on Long Island,Ny and not have to move away from our families. I hope to provide better care in hospitals and make a difference!!!!!!!!!
  2. I will be starting my very first semester. I'm taking: Algebra Intro to Pych English Humanities-Holocaust Medical Terminology **good luck to everyone**
  3. BTW our kids are the same age!!!! So we will both have our hands full. They'll be many late nights for us
  4. No way! It is not too late. I am the same age as you and I will be returning to school in the spring to take everything including math, english and all the sciences. It can be done, don't let anyone stop you.
  5. I'm not saying that I think it is easy, just that I would like to hear that people enjoy helping people. Because isn't that why people become nurses? Or is it just for the money?
  6. It seems like any time I talk to a nurse and tell them I am going back to school to be a nurse, they always knock nursing saying how hard it is and how it's not worth it, how is that??? :angryfire
  7. I have two boys, 3 and 1. I plan on taking all pre reqs that I can online thru my community college so I'll only have to go onto campus for ap classes. If i get accepted into the nursing program, it won't be for 2 years and my oldest will be in kindergarten. So hopefully everything will run smoothly. Oh and I'm buying a laptop so I can do some work while at work.
  8. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone went to Wilson Tech(western boces) for the LPN program?
  9. OKay here's my situation. I am 26, I have two kids under 3. I finally figured out that this is what I want to do with my life but it's a really bad time. Child Care is so expensive. I will not be able to start an lpn program for another year or so. Do you think it is stupid to start studying on my own now? I printed out medical term papers, etc. that I can look over and try to memorize. I also started brushing up on my math skills. Does anyone have any books or websites that will help me learn alot about nursing?
