1. I rarely use this forum, and the more I use it, the more I understand why.
2. There pixierose and roser13, is that better?
3. Dear pixierose, As with all wisdom, I wait anxiously to receiving it from you. Please educate ME in the wisdom of doing so, IT IS necessary.
4. Dear pixierose I said "Your casual dismissal of his [the original poster's] concerns reminds me [i should have said is similar to in TYPE to that] of white people casually dismissing black people's experience of racism. Of course sexual identity doesn't affect YOU, you are the majority." You, pixierose responded, saying, "This comment is just disgusting on so many levels." to which I respond, ,"Please elaborate. I look forward to being re-educated. I await your wisdom."
5. Please elaborate. I look forward to being re-educated. I await your wisdom.
6. The DNP who said he should include a citation for his statement that most male nurses are gay. I used the reply button to reply to her statement, but apparently the comment system on this board is strictly temporal.
7. The BEST answer yet!
8. Your casual dismissal of his concerns reminds me of white people casually dismissing black people's experience of racism. Of course sexual identity doesn't affect YOU, you are the majority.
9. So, according to your response, a major part of the posters personality, looks, strength, and social perceptions, as well as society's view of him is, " in need of education (kindly answer) or a take-down as to the insignificance of his male-ness ." So, the fact that female physicians have suffered for decades due to their "femaleness." should ignored because "gender enters into my interaction with my peers NEVER"
10. I think it's important to recognize the power of cognitive dissonance. Working as a nurse will "force" you to either quit if possible, or grow to like nursing. Insanity is the only other choice, but thanks to cognitive dissonance that won't happen.
11. I find it hysterically funny that you would try to introduce citations into what is an personal statement. No citation is needed. This is not a doctoral dissertation. If it is his experience that most male nurses are gay, then that's his experience. To suggest otherwise is demeaning and insulting.
12. As amoLucia says, ageism will affect you later and having a Master's will be a very useful hedge against this.
13. The attackers were not wearing body armor anyway, so a 45 would have done the job permanently in probability.
14. MOst contracts of that type have "emergency" clauses. Take the full signed contract to a lawyer.
15. So you'd rather do nothing and let yourself and others be shot? I'm not trying to be snarky. I'm just asking if you feel, given the inaccuracy generated by the adrenaline, that you would be better off in that situation just taking your chances.
