OLOL Tulane 2008
I don't know about your income, but I wouldn't tell them about my wife's income. I graduated from OLOL and had the grant. My combined household income was in the six figures and I had no problem.

OLOL Accelerated People-Past and Present!
I would like to get books too, but I wouldn't know what chapters to study/read. I noticed that we have two price lists for the books. One price list is from OLOL and it has older editions of the books. The other price list is from Chimes Bookstore and it lists newer editions of the book. Take a look at it. I asked X and she said that she didn't know, but it would be best to order the latest edition, since instructors normally use new books.

Asking the board for a second time
Call your school and let them know that you have already been approved. I had the same problem and my school advised me to call LSBN. LSBN told me that I was approved to enroll in clinicals and that my background check/finger prints could be applied to the other program. I did have to submit another $20 for the application fee and another application (back and front green sheet on second page of packet). I did not have to pay the entire $70 and submit the background and finger print portion. I also put a copy of the approval letter with my application.

OLOL Accelerated -Fall 2007
I was accepted for both OLOL and Charity for fall 2007 and I am trying to decide which one. I want to get it done quickly, but I don't want to sacrafice my grades since I plan to go into a graudate program for advance practice. What do you all think Charity or OLOL? I haven't been able to get a lot of info on OLOL. In the interview they kept telling me that they didn't have any info about the school. I wanted to know if you all know the sucessful completion or failure/drop out rates and average GPA of OLOL Accelerated graduates.

Hep B Vaccine - Help!!!
I went to a public health clinic and I was told that the hep vaccine was only given to children under eighteen, but if I had already started the series they could finish it. So I went to Occupational Medicine in Baton Rouge and got the first shot for $65 and then I went back to the public health clinic for my other two shots. There is also a place called Capitol City Family Health Center in Baton Rouge (phone number 225-389-8880) and it is pretty cheap. You pay on a sliding scale according to your income. Call before you go. You can get the VDRL (Syphillis blood test) at the Delgado STD clinic (phone number 504-658-2540) off North Rampart street next door to the police station. If they have the hep vaccine in (sometimes they run out) it is free or at least it was a year ago. They are not the nicest people and they don't take appointments. Sometimes they even close early if they are short staffed, so call before you go. Here are a few other clinics that I have heard of: Algiers Community Health Clinic, 4422 General Meyer Algiers Ida Hymel Health Clinic, 1111 Newton St . Algiers Covenant House Health (Downtown), 611 North Rampart New Orleans
