Dear Daytonite (or whomever): Our facility policy is only use PIV blood for lab draws when first inserting the PIV. Our policy does not set a specific time limit - would 30-60 minutes be appropriate, assuming no IVF or meds have been administered following the PIV insertion? Thanks!
