  1. I worked for an Insurance Company for 3 years doing Onsite Workers Comp Case Management. It was really nice. They taught me from the beginning(I had no CM experience). They were good to me. My supervisors were not only fair but nice & supportive. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I worked from home so the job started to bleed into my evenings & nights. I was always on the phone & computer. If you are in an office it is actually better. You can walk away at the end of the day. I am now working for a Trauma Service in a Level I Trauma Center. It is GREAT!!! I definately told my old supervisors how much they taught me & gave them props for training me the way they did. :bowingpur They even helped me get my CCM. I can't believe I actually like my job. Weird. Good luck. :typing
  2. I took a job about 3 years ago as a Worker's Comp Case Manager, they trained me from "scratch", taught me well & even assisted me in getting my CCM. I worked from HOME!!! It was an insurance company. I enjoyed the job working M-F, 8-5, Holidays off, able to make my own schedule etc... I was even able to go to my kids school functions in the middle of the day. It was a great job but I started to bleed my day into night, working on my computer all of the time, always on the phone. I got burned out on Worker's Comp so I applied for a Trauma Case Manager in a Level I trauma center. I GOT IT!!! Apparently all of my history of ER, Tele, ICU, PACU etc.. paid off. I have been a nurse for 16 years now. The hours are 7-3 M-F, rounds w/the MD's. Lots of learning oportunities. AWESOME, interesting & flexible. It was the route I took, good for me, maybe not for others. I am happy. Best of all, my day ends at 3pm most days. I go home & enjoy the rest of the evening w/my kids, hubby & can be a mom. I can even work a Saturday here & there in the PACU, when I feel like it. Good Luck!!!:typing
