  1. I am also a new grad and will be starting my first day in the OR tomorrow morning. I am scared and excited all in one. I found your post very helpful and will make sure that I print it out to keep with me during my orientation. I have a great OR manager and great feeling about the facility I am working at. I forsee some hardships in the future, but am looking forward to the challenge. Thank you to all the OR nurses out there.
  2. Issey, You are a lifesaver!:thankya: Thank you so much for your wonderful advice. I am a new grad who has one week left before beginning OR orientation. Your tips are wonderful and I really do appreciate the time you took to write them down for us. I will be printing out your tips and laminating them to carry with me in the OR. Thank you, again.
  3. I am a new grad that just graduated in May. I looked at several areas to go into and got an offer to work in the OR at our local hospital. I spoke with the OR manager and the employment manager at the local hospital. The OR manager insisted that I shadow in the OR before finding out if the position was for me. I went to shadow and asked so many questions to some of the other nurses. I saw everything that they did and what roles they played. I saw myself working in that area. I knew then that I had found my place. I am glad to be starting in one week for orientation. I look forward to beginning my career as an OR nurse.
