Hi guys! I was just wandering. My first state to be licensed in was Massachusetts! Wuhoo! For right now though, I have my RN job right here in Texas and maybe someday(like more than 5 years later) I would like to live in MA! Would it be hard to renew/apply for a MA license that has been expired already? Would it be wise to let it expire to dodge the $120 renewal fee every year? Thank you very much MA RNs!! David

I rented a zipcar from austin coz I had tons of luggage plus a bike. Went back the next day to return it then rode the greyhound bus. Sent you an email btw.

I came from Austin. It was more convenient and affordable coming from there. Right now it's a house with a family that I'm with. I rented a room. Hey, email me [email protected] I'll give you more details man.

I'm already here. I finished my physical yesterday. It was pretty fast. I got a room about 20-30 mins walk from Scott and White. They still have a room available if you want but if you rather rent your own apartment that's cool too. Let me know! See you soon man!

Thank you very much Flatlander, OCNRN63, and Kooky Korky! I'm going to follow all of the things you said! It doesn't hurt to over prepare is my motto. If I could over prepare that is. To be honest, I think I've been psyching out myself too much but when I hear all those new grad RN stories, it's hard to relax. I'll try to calm myself down one of these days :) Yes, I'm really thankful for the internship. I still can't believe that I got picked for it. Amazing! I'm thankful for everyone that helped me and Allnurses especially. I don't think I'd pass the NCLEX without Allnurses and would have not passed my resume to the right hospital too. We truly are an amazing group of people that gives so much care that you care see it here and I can't say that enough!

Yeah, I've been watching Youtube videos on skills and other new RNs experiences and they are awesome with refreshing my studies and keeping my anxiety a little lower *whew* I have my BLS, ACLS certification and I'd love to do the EKG class and others but sadly my funds are getting pretty thin for them. I've got something saved for my relocation(Yes, I'm moving to another state. The Lone Star State! Howdy partner!) but I don't think I have enough for more than $200 per class. I'm pretty good with my instructors but my nursing school is outside the country. Does anybody have a private jet I could borrow? :) My soon to be preceptor said that the observation unit has a lot of assessments and documentation particularly for "Dx Chest pain, TIA/Stoke, hypertensive emergency, ETOH abuse, s/p angiogram, Afib with RVR, CHF and a lot more" so I got 3 of the F.A. Davis' notes(RNotes, Docu Notes, IV Med Notes). Most of the new RN's here and on Youtube said that it helped them during their internship. What other resources do you think would prepare me most the observation unit?

Hi guys, I've been recently hired as an RN Med/Surg Intern for an observation unit. It's been a long time since I've had my clinicals. I graduated in 2011 and passed the nclex last year. I've forgotten most of my studies and skills. Although, I'm very excited to finally work in my dream job (as an RN! :)!) and I'd like to feel very confident but I'm afraid that I'm gonna be let go on my first few weeks. What can I do guys? What could I study or practice? I have 1 month before my life starts!

Congratulations! I plan on doing more than 150 questions a day because I usually study 8-12 hours a day. Is that okay?

They waived it for my application because I proved that I graduated/attended college. You should definitely email PCS if you're applying in MA. They do respond right away.

Hi francesg, For mine, I got the CES Professional Report. As for the Kaplan Review, I suggest you take it before ATT and right when you're just submitting your application. For MA, they would only allow you 60-days right after you get approved for the ATT for NCLEX not enough time to finish the Philippine Kaplan's 4-month review. I'm waiting for the ATT(which will come next week) because the Kaplan review here in SF is only for 2 weeks(depending on the schedule you choose) and online access to the Q-bank is 3 months.
