Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines
Sad news for those gunning to do their BP at CON. I'm currently undergoing my BP at CON, and I was talking with the coordinators last week and they said that they really have a high backlog of applications possibly till the end of next year. As of the moment they have more than 300 applicants already but they would be increasing the number of intakes to 6 next year.

I emailed them through the email they used when the request for medicals was made. It also states in that letter whom your case officer is. :)

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2
Hi, I lodged my visa on May 23, received the email from the embassy for medicals on June 8, did my medicals on June 10. I was not able to ask St. Luke's when was my results forwarded to ehealth. I followed up on the status of my visa on June 25 via email, they replied after 2 days in forming me that my medicals were being processed in AUS. Finally revived my visa on July 11.

i was also advised that my medical results would be sent to aus when i asked for an update. but i am not sure if this is normal for everyone. it usually just takes a month so i was not sure what the delay was for. i had my medicals at st. lukes.

Hi, to whom in AHPRA did yo request for an extension? and how did you go about asking for it? I was supposed to go to CON for July intake but was not able to due to visa problems. my letter will expire in September and still don have a confirmation on the next course. Hope you get an extension. :)

regarding the 456 visa, Australian Embassy has a new rule, you have to lodge your visa first at the VIA center then the embassy would email you on the need for the Medical Examination, which we need to present to the accredited centers... i already tried asking the accredited center if i could already start with the ME since we know what is needed but they would not allow, they need the email from the Australian Embassy. it apparently takes about a month for processing of 456 visa.

i'm not sure, i had my vaccines done at Jacob's Ladder in UN, they provided me with a certificate of vaccination. That is what i sent to CON... it had the brand and also the batch number. do you know where your friend stayed during BP, i am still on the look out for cheap accommodations.

yes, you should pass all the needed requirements including forms 2&3 CON usually replies to email inquiries the next day or in 2 days they will send you the support letter together with the acceptance once you have completed all the requirements and have already paid the course fee.

have a Chest Xray done, it it turns out to be normal send it along with your other docs... most of us would have positive results for the PPD anyway since we are all exposed to PTB. It is not really a definitive way to test for tuberculosis....
