  1. WOW, so happy to find this tread. I just get call today for first interview next week UC harbor... I keep searching for jobs and getting all rejections...this is like an light in the dark. Can anyone PM me to share their interview experiences? I will be really appreciated because I really really need a job...get two kids to support.
  2. That's what husband advised...I first would not consider because I hate to lie...but now if I have to...
  3. As I know the available visas created by the nurse relief act for foreign nurses have been used up by the year of 2006. The new wave of people get into nursing are actually more of "made in the USA". They were blew into nursing by the massive advertisements on media about "the promising job".
  4. During the time I was in school for BSN, I met people gave up jobs as a sale manager, accountant...and some even pay $30K to $50k to go to private school for nursing...sigh
  5. I graduated in 2007 with a ADN and worked for 8 months as RN, had to quit to stay home raise two little kids; However, I continued for my BSN. Now I graduate and apply for jobs, I was told that I have less than one year experience to qualify for a non newgrad RN position. And when I apply for newgrad, they want RN with NO experience. I feel really bad...was hoping to get a job with my experience and other license as RT. Only few years, I feel like I have been totally left out by the world. I should have changed my major when go for BS...lol Anyone has the same issue?

  7. Hi I am a F-1 student who's currently under OPT (expires on June, 2008). There is a hospital agree to petition me once I get the license. I know there is retrogression. Even the hospital file I-140 for me during OPT and get approved, I can not file I-485 , so I want to continue to a BSN program. My question is, if I have an approved I-140 in hand, will I still be eligible to apply for a new I-20? Should I wait until retrogression almost ends to file I-140? BTW, is there hope that the retrogression can be lifted before my OPT ends? Thanks! LY
  8. Dear Silverdragon102, Thank you for clarifying. I really appreciate your time and effects to answer my questions! I will see if Suzanne get a chance to take a look at my questions. L.Y.
  9. That means even my I-140 get approved, but there is retrogression, I can not turn in the I-485, so I can not work. Am I understand it correctly? But isn't that we can turn in applications for I-140 and I-485 at the same time? See, I get confused with I-140 and I-485, I don't know the retrogression affects the I-140 or I-485. Which will allow me to work in the US legally? OK, if I get the I-140 approved but still can not file I-485 before OPT end, I need to change to F-1. My question is that if retrogression stops after I change to a F-1, will the I-140 still valid and will I be able to apply for I-485? Thanks again! L.Y.
  10. Thanks for the reply. So if I can not get the I-140 approve before I use up the OPT, I need to change to F1. But by the time the I-140 was approved, I am a F1 student, will I be able to go back to work for the hospital that originally apply I-140 for me? L.Y.
  11. Dear Suzanne, I am a newbie just sign up for the forum. As I went through some of the previous posts, I learned a lot. And now I understand why I got rejected every time I asked hospitals for sponsorship. I should have said petition. I am a F-1 student who is graduating from a US ADN program in this June and hopefully can take the board in July or August. I have applied for OPT and already received the Employment Authorization card. So I am good until 06/05/08. My plan is to take the NCLEX ASAP and look for a hospital to petition me. But I am very worry because of the retrogression. Can any hospital still petition me if there is retrogression? My friend told me if I am lucky enough to get a hospital to petition me and my I-140 get approved, I can stay in the US working as I am waiting for the I-485, is it true? And how long will it take nowadays to get the I-140 approved? Can I turn in I-140 and I-485 at the same time? I am also holding valid US RT license. Will it do any good to speed up my petition process? And should I apply for BSN just to play safe after I use up my OPT? I know I ask a lot of questions...so many many thanks in advance! L.Y.
