  1. It is comforting to know that I am not the only one who has taken the nclex numerous times and failed, but won't give up. Don't you dare give up on your dream. I graduated in 1996 and failed my nclex 4 times. I also went into another career as a Director in a daycare. I have been at this daycare for 11 years. I just gave up on taking the nclex again because I was tired of studying and just was afraid of failing again. I have started studying again. I am going to take my time and study 5-10 questions a day from the Saunder's cd. I know we can do it and I will be praying for you. We have to trust that the Lord will see us through. Study hard and don't get discouraged. You motivated me to keep studying. We shouldn't feel ashamed. We apparently are not alone. Good Luck and let me know when you are planning on taking your nclex again. I don't remember alot and know that it will be harder and more time consuming but I know that I can't finish until I get started. Take your time and don't beat yourself up if you take a day or two off to relax. You will pass if you just believe.
  2. Congratulations! I'm so glad to hear that you finally did it. Now would you please pray for me, because I graduated from nursing school 11 years ago and took my nclex about 4 times and failed each time. I am getting ready to start studying again but I am not feeling very confident. You just motivated me and let me know that there is still hope for me. I do have the saunder's book along with the cd. I hope it helps me. I will take my time and study as many questions as I can. I'm not going to set a date for myself this time. Good luck in your future endeavors and I appreciate your enthusiasm. Keep me in your prayers and I know that God's plan for me is much bigger than I can ever imagine. Thanks for the support.
  3. Don't feel bad about failing the test. I have failed it numerous times also. I took my nclex 11 years ago and after failing about 4 times, I went into a totally different profession. I have been a director at a daycare since then and I want to pursue my nursing career now. I have to start studying again and I don't know where to begin. I'm confident that I will pass this time, because I absolutely hate my job and I have to move on. Stay encouraged and know that there is always someone worst off than you. We can do it and we will. If, we have to take it 10 times, we will pass. We have to believe it! Don't you dare give up. Life is full of chances, and we have to study hard and not be afraid. All the encouraging words on this web-site has given me a higher level of confidence. Good Luck and let me know how you do. We can do it if we only believe we can.
  4. If, getting back on track sounds hard for you, you should hear what it is I have to do. I graduated with a Assoc. degree 11 years ago. I never got into my nursing, nor did I pass my nclex exam at that time. I began working as a director at a daycare, and just got comfortable. I am now ready to pursue my nursing, and don't know where to begin. I will study for my nclex, pass, and look for a job in a clinic. I don't want to work in a hospital either. Stay encouraged and know that there is always somebody worst off than yourself. At least you've been working as a nurse for quite a while. Good luck in switching over to another area. I'm sure you'll do fine. Stay encouraged, and believe! Anything is attainable if only you believe!
  5. I did a clinical at St. Michael's Hospital that was terrible and another clinical at St. Luke's Hospital that wasn't that pleasant either. I had many friends that were doing their clinicals at the same time as I was that also talked about their aweful experiences in some of the hospitals. We all had to travel the same road to become a nurse, and the nurses that are in the professsion already should make things more enjoyable and tolerable for the nursing student. when I pass my test and become a nurse, I am going to take the nursing student under my wing, mentor and encourage them, and try to help them as much as possible to succeed. There were some wonderful nurses at Sinai, VA, and St. Mary's hospital. Thanks for your concern.
  6. The nclex is a big deal and it should be talked about. I graduated from a registered nursing program 11 years ago. At that time I took the nclex test several times and failed. I began a career doing something else out of frustration. I wish I had of went back and tried again at least 10 years ago. I am getting ready to start studying again for the nclex test. I have alot of work to do, but I feel more confident now than I did 11 years ago. I know that I can pass the nclex test, and I know that I will. There is a great support team on this web-site and if we encourage and support one another, we all will succeed. Let's continue to talk about the test and help each other to get over some of the fears. It's definitely something that needs to be talked about. There are several web-sites that can possibly assist you in preparing for the test. Go to Yahoo and put in "classes to prepare for NCLEX" and search. Hope some of these sites are helpful. Good Luck! I'll definitely let you guys know how I do when I take the test again. It won't be until the ending of the year, because I have lot's of studying to do. We can do it! Believe it and achieve it!
  7. I just read lot's of negative comments on MATC and their nursing program. I graduated from MATC in 1996. Yes, there were some parking issues, but overall if you want to get a great education for a cheaper price, I would definitely recommend MATC. I had some great instructors who really encouraged me and supported my efforts. My biggest problem while in the program wasn't the school itself, it was the nurses working in the hospitals that made me feel stupid. Many of them were not pleasant, and made you feel like you were a threat to them. That made my clinical experience not too pleasant, but I did what I had to do and got through it. MATC is a great school. I just graduated from MATC on May 19,07 with another degree in Early Childhood Education. If , you can deal with a few parking issues, MATC is definitely a good pick. Good Luck on your future endeavors.
