Hi Gingerbell, congrats on passing the NCLEX and unfortunatly welcome to additude that I have recieved from many people the entire time I've been an LPN. Maybe it's the difference in the state I live in, but here LPNs are quite looked down upon. LPN.... Likes to Pretend they're Nurses! Everytime I say I'm a nurse, the first thing I hear is "LPN or RN" when I say LPN they say "Oh.....are you going to go back to school?" It is ridiculas! Ecspeacialy when you concider I work in long term care and do the EXACT same job as the RNs do. I can appreciate that RNs go to school longer and they deserve to be recognized for it, however, LPNs study the same material. The human body is not different for us. I probally would have gone straight into the RN program if I'd known it would be like this. I've known several RNs who don't seem to know what they are doing and vise versa, it depends on the nurse not the letters at the end of the name. Not to be mean, but here, in Il. MAs are not even concidered health care proffecionals (excuse my spelling) they are glorified secretaries who can take V.S. I wouldn't take that opinion to heart at all. Good luck, and in the future just remind yourself that they really don't know what they are talking about. The LPN program was intense and our licenses were hard earned and well deserved!

Hello everyone, I've been reading the postings on here regaurding RUE. It seems as though everyone is in agreement that RUE is a waste of money and perhaps a bit of a scam. I had every intention of signing up with them. My confusion is this, I need to take almost all of my prerequisites for excelciors RN program. Don't I NEED to go through RUE or a similiar program to take the prerequisites before I can start the RN? I'd appreciate everyones knowledge, apparently I'm not clear enough about what I'm getting into. It's quite a large financial commitment, which is fine, as long as it's something I have to do. Hi everyone, I just signed up and I'm looking forward to "talking" with other nurses. I do have a question. I am an LPN and I am seriously concidering getting my RN via an on-line program. Does anyone have an opinion on this? My biggest fear is that my degree won't be concidered as good as one from a traditional college. There is no possible way I'm going to be able to go back to class. On-line is the only way for me. Any opinions or knowledge would be appreciated. Hopefully I'll be able to give some one else my advise later. I currently work in long term care, which I do not enjoy. I just excepted a job at a local med/max security prison. That will definately be a huge change! Well, I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
