  1. Unfortunately I don't know one nurse who can truthfully say they NEVER made a med error being missing a med, being late with a med, or giving the wrong dose. It happens to the best of us. Just always tripple check, and never try to hide the fact you made an error. The good thing is, from now on I'm sure you'll always be extra carefl when it comes to insulin. Thats the thing with nursing...we all learn from our mistakes hopefully not to make the mistake again.
  2. Do travel agencies assign you to only where you have experience? I have 3 yrs of med/surge, but I'm interested in peds.

I am thinking about becoming a travel nurse. I just had some questions that I haven't seen anyone ask... What do you do as far as for your social life? Do travel agencies help to introduce you to other travel nurses? I know it usually takes a little bit of time before you form friendships outside of work with the people you work with. I'm worried that I would get to lonely as a travel nurse. It would be a great help if experienced or new travel nurses would share their experiences. Thanks!
  4. I'm originally from the LVH. I worked at LVH-CC for two years before I moved to the midwest. I work now at what is soposed to be one of the best hospitals in the state. I have to tell you , LVH was so much better. Even though I didn't feel it at the time, I can now see how much more valued I was at LVH. I felt for the most part respected by peers, managers, as well as physicians. I think I might move back to the valley, and I will definately be contacting LVH for employment.
