Harry Truman college
They do take in account all GPA. They also look at Pre-reqs. Also, if you are applying for next year (Fall 09) make sure you test out of math and get the chem out of the way. They will not give you an application without those courses. Also, the reading test needs to to be taken at Truman and signed by one of the Communications Chairmans. It doesn't not matter if you took the test at another city college. It has to be done at Truman. If you think this is confusing, wait until you get in (fingers acrossed). But, all nursing programs are this messed up. It is all worth the hassle when you start and get that nice pay check.

O.R. Internship Interview - Help, please!
One other thing, a nurse with 30 years under her belt who eats the young is not what new grads need. Good luck to your new hires. I have a feeling they will need it.

O.R. Internship Interview - Help, please!
It was not my intention to come across as manipulative. The hospital that hired me would have picked up on that. These are only interviewing techniques that can be used for any job interview, not just for the OR.

O.R. Internship Interview - Help, please!
I am a new grad that got a job in the OR at one of the top 10 peds hospitals in the country. I missed my first interview because of a scheduling mix up with HR. However, I still got the job. Here's what I did. I talked about wanting to work in a high stress, technical part of the hospital. I said I was good at multitasking. Know that you are/will be the patients adovcate. Also, get them to talk about themselves. People love to talk about themselves. The more they talk about themselves the more they like you. Good Luck. God knows I need it.

Harry Truman college
I just graduated from Truman. They go by GPA first (3.5 and above). Then with the left over spots they do a lottery. We were told this the last week of the program.
