  1. Hi! First off, congrats on making a decision to pursue a nursing career! Second, I am a Lutheran student. So, if you would like to email me I would be more than glad to answer any questions you have. I can tell you that so far I have loved attending there. The instructors are fantastic (at least the ones I have met!). You will get 60 hours of clinical every 8 weeks! That is an outstanding amount. And as far as not being able to advance in your career, there are MANY different RN to BSN programs out there, so that if you ever wanted to advance you could go back to school and get your BSN. Most hospitals start you out on the same pay no matter what degree you have. Again, if you would like to email me, I will try to answer any questions you have about Lutheran. donandkati @ sbcglobal.net :welcome:
  2. I worked as a PCT for two years at a local hospital... When I first applied it took about 3 weeks before I got a call back! But like the poster above said, call HR and ask to speak with the nurse recruiter, this will get you where you want to go. Make sure they know you have finished a year of nursing school... at the hospital I worked at you had to take a month long class (5 days a week, for four weeks) to become a PCA, and then another month long class to become a PCT... but, if you were a nursing student, they held "test out" days for PCA/PCT skills and you just had to prove you knew what you were doing! So, I would say call HR, don't worry about bothering them, that is their job! Good luck!
  3. Hi! I am starting there this fall! What year are you? Can you tell me what you like and do not like about the program? And anything else you wouldn't mind sharing would be greatly appreciated. I am very nervous about starting.... Just wanted to get some first hand knowledge and advice! Thanks!
  4. I was just wondering if anyone was a current Lutheran student or is on their waiting list!
