  1. Hi! Congrats on the new job! I just got an interview with JH and don't know much about the area. I would appreciate if you could share your experience so far! So JH has orientation for new grads only in spring? Any tips for the interview will be appreciated as well. In their message they said for "Share Time" bring scrubs so I'm assuming it is shadowing? Thanks!!!
  2. i'm so sorry you feel this way and I have a feeling I will not enjoy nursing (haven't started yet). What exactly is making you feel that way? I personally feel I would be most stressed out and upset about my job due to feeling incompetent and knowing what to do in a particular situation. At my previous job (nursing is my second career) I fest very comfortable and was happy to go to work, but nursing is like nothing else.
  3. Hi everyone, I am on H4 too and will be graduating this summer, the problem is I know many hospitals do not hire someone on H4, like they say they "don't sponsor" at the moment. Does anyone have an advice for me, as I have started looking for jobs, but I am not even sure how to approach the HR with this question. It is not worth applying if they do not hire foreigners like myself in the first place. Maybe someone has been in the same situation? I would appreciate any input! Thanks a lot!
  4. did you get anything from Loyola yet? Hope you get your acceptance soon!
  5. I am sorry to hear that But at least you got a job offer, that's great, good luck maybe next year :) And good luck to all who is still waiting for Loyola decision!
  6. this is weird, why haven't they looked at your application yet?? anyway, Sasha confirmed that science courses cannot be taken online, and my local community college doesn't allow me to take it without the prereq....I am now looking at other cc in my area and most of them offer 3 credits of organic chemistry, while Loyola needs 4! I am soooo frustrated....... I still hope you'll be in, I guess you'll have to wait for a few more days.
  7. tswim, thank you so much for the info! :) I was accepted for 09, i'm so happy, still have to complete 2 prereqs though. I was planning to take organic chemistry online, but Sasha said we are not allowed to take science courses online.. is that really so? Also, what can you say about the international students in the program? Did you have any in your class? I have a TOEFL score of 116 out of 120, and a very good GPA, but still worry about how I'll do... I understand that every person is different, but would appreciate your thoughts about that :) Did you have a lot of people who had no clinical experience and had unrelated majors? How did they do compared to people who had some nursing-related experience? Because it seems that some people would start with an advantage of science backgrounds, for example.. Again, thank you so much for your posts :) It really helps :)
  8. I have received my bachelor's in another country and got everything evaluated in the US. Maybe you could ask Sasha again, because it doesn't seem right! I also have a similar problem, so I would have to somehow beg for the department consent to take this class :) I don't know if it's going to work, so I'm now really frustrated Could you email Sasha and make sure? I don't know how they make their decisions, they don't tell which component of the application is the most important for them... I hope you'll get in :) Good luck!
  9. btw I was also looking at une.edu it seems to be a very good chemistry course, but Sasha said it is not going to work... i'm so confused...
  10. Hi Christy, You know, I just received an email from Sasha, apparently we are not allowed to take science prereqs online, did you know that??? I was hoping to take organic chemistry online, but now I'm so confused and frustrated too! :-D I have 4.00 in my preregs and 3.9 in my bachelor's. Don't worry I am sure they haven't made all decision yet, Dec. 1 is just the approximation, hope we'll be classmates :) nice to meet you, I'm Tanya :) I really don't know what to do with chemistry online... What do you guys think?
  11. I am thinking of taking this course, I could not find any other online organic chemistry class.. I just talked to them and they said they don't need to see my transcripts, I can just go ahead and fax them the registration form.. Other colleges usually want to make sure I have the prereqs for the course.. What about you? Was the registration pretty easy?
  12. Hi guys, I received my acceptance letter on December 1. I am very happy, but still have to complete two prerequisites though, Hope I'll see you guys in class :) I would be nice to know you before we become classmates :) Does anyone have an idea where I can take Organic Chemistry online? I would really appreciate any information!
  13. Hello, I am a recent nursing graduate. I do not have a full time experience yet, only 2 years of part time general nursing experience. So, I am in the process of getting my CGFNS evaluation right now. I would really appreciate if anyone or (Suzanne4) can answer several quesitons. In particular, I am looking at Chicagoland job opportunities. 1) Is it going to be hard for me find an employer since I do not have full-time experience. 2) I am considering looking for a job without agencies, so I was wondering who should I contact regarding my immigration (green card)? 3) How long does it usually take to get a green card if I will an employer? Thanks in advance. Tanya
