help me KEEP my license plz?...
Hi all! I work at a nursing home and the work load is really heavy and the job sucks (to put it lightly) The DON has posted signs that say we MUST clock out within 5 min of the end of our shift and whatever is left to do we should leave for the next shift. I say--- but I still need to chart! She has also said that the nurses should stop passing meds to pass trays at meal times and basically do anything that keeps the pts quiet The dilemma to me is LEGALLY I believe I am responsible for the safe administration of the meds NOT THE FOOD -I think the food is the facility's responsibility or it is HERS. If I stop passing the meds to pass trays and feed and they are all late LEGALLY I should be filling out 50 or 60 med error sheets right? I also feel that they (management)will verbalize this stuff but wont put it in writing to cover themselves and if something happened I WOULD BE ON MY OWN...right? I also feel that charting is a priority to cover myself so despite what she says what should be a priority for ME? I know I gotta get another job.....workin on it

If you bought your own stuff........ opinions plz?
The other respondent was right on! I thought I was making my self clear when I associated the number of Black patients to the number of bps. But sorry if I wasnt clear - there is also a lg number of glucoscans- on mostly the Black residents (which is most of my floor) and just to really calm you down - I am black too

If you bought your own stuff........ opinions plz?
Ok I have been out of work for a while and have a PRN position that I NEED TO KEEP two floors share supplies and that makes me slow I want to buy a BP cuff (automatic) that reads quickly and is not tempermental- I dont want to have to get it positioned JUUUUST RIGHT:angryfire Also a thermometer the pts are not keeping their mouths closed so do I go temporal or ear? and an oximeter? and other suggestions of things to buy? ... dont worry about them objecting -- they passed state with flying colors, it wont be a problem I read other posts and know most of you hate this stuff but I have 41 pts to myself Out of 41 maybe 37 are black so on my 9 am med pass I have about 30 bps to get daily plus the meds plus everything else. plz add brands or links signed, nurse reactivated

Looking to talk with Re-entry LPN's
I wasnt out that long but there is an in class refresher at Cleveland state university that I took. There were lots of nurses out forever like you and it really helps with confidence. you will get clinicals and now that i am working I highly recommend it.
