Just wondering if anyone has taken the pharmacology test for UCH recently? I have a tentative position pending I pass the test. I was given an outline on what to study, but it is extremely vague listing topics such as "knowledge of medication side ...

I'll be at the new facility being built in Lone Tree - Ortho/Spine. I'll orient at the main campus until the facility is complete. What area are you in?
I am moving to the Denver area in a couple of weeks. I started applying for positions back in early July when we found out my husband was transferring there. I have my BSN and 8 years acute care experience, and I also had a hard time finding a job!...
My facility has just implemented a "2 mg Dilaudid max dose" policy d/t several pts that have coded after receiving 4 mg doses. Are there other facilities that have made changes to the dosing of Dilauded d/t respiratory depression and codes? RNs are...
I also was offended by the comments made about nurses. Right after the intern said "Did you just call me a nurse?'" , my hubby looked at me and said, "Holy S##t, did you hear what she just said?". So, thanks for the email link, I just sent them my...

I know exactly what you mean...when I first started my pre-reqs I wasn't sure I would ever really "get" what was going on. Now I am a second semester student in a 4 semester program, and I actually get it!!! It's so awesome to take care of a pt and...
What a wonderful thing to do! 12 inches is a lot of hair....but it makes your head much lighter. I cut off all my hair a few years ago and I wish I would have known about Lock of Love back then. Great Job!!
It is so much easier to do them once you've had a successfull stick. I was lucky and I got my first one in w/o any problems, took off soooo much pressure. I missed a few after, but it wasn't as bad. Keep up the great work!! :biggringi :balloons:
I am a second semester student in AZ. We can give IM/SC injections, Accu-checks, assessments, charting, wet to moist and wet to dry sterile dressing changes, start IV's, insert foleys, insert NG tubes, suction trachs, central line dressing change, 1...
I have never really been a slacker, however, I have never really had to try all that hard to get A's until I started Nursing Program. It is so important to have a good understanding of all your pre-reqs before you start your nursing classes because i...
