  1. He is in Taipei at the time. His English is very good. He is working at this time.. I am in NJ and trying to gather information for him. He will be contacting you with more questions I'm sure. Thank you for your timely responses.. I truly appreciate them.
  2. I Will Call Him Right Now.. Can He Have Cg Cancel Cvs And Apply That Money Towards Ces .. Or Will That Money Be Lost?
  3. He has already submitted CVS NY application and payment to CG. He, however has decided he wants to work in NJ. Can he start CES for NJ... or is it too late.. Can he have both going on at once.... Confused..
  4. I will pass the information on.. Thank you.
  5. His first choice was New Jersey, but when he spoke to a representative at the Board of Nursing in Newark, he was told that NJ would not issue a license unless he had a social security number. The license application states in bold: You must provide a Social Security number to the Board or Committee. Failure to do so will result in denial of licensure. He felt that without a license at hand to show prospective employers, his chances of being petitioned would be limited. Should he disregard that and attempt the process anyway. His ultimate goal is to work in NJ. Will his licensure application be turned down and not issued an ATT for a lack of a SS#? And how difficult will it be to have prospective employer grant him employment when there is no license to provide them.. Will simply stating I passed the NCLEX be sufficient?
  6. I understand that becoming licensed and getting petitoned are two very different processes handled by different entities. I wanted to know which states appear to have hospitals that seem to petition more often due to a lack of nurses, if any. Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I appreciate your help.
  7. I have a friend from Taiwan who recently forwarded his application to CG and has begun the CES process for NY licensing. After reading several posts on how long it's taking NYBON to provide ATT and with NY hospitals not being too receptive to sponsoring foreign nurses, should he even continue the process with NY or should he attempt another state? NJ will not issue a license without a SS number, which he does not have. Which states issue initial licenses without SS#. Where would job prospects be more favorable?
  8. I have a friend from Taiwan who just started the process to become licensed in NY. He recently submitted his CES form to CG. After hearing about all these long delays with NY and the unlikelyhood of obtaining a hospital to petition a foregn nurse. Is it worth continuing the process? He considered NJ but he was informed that the NJBOF will not issue a license without a social security #. Should he reconsider and apply to another state? New Mexico I've heard seems to issue the ATT in a relatively short period and without a social security #. If he obtains a NM license will his chances of at least getting a hospital to petition for him easier? It would seem that his chances are better if he opts out of NY Are there other states who are petitioning foreign nurses? Thank you in advance for your help...
