  1. The pregnancy package was just for one week, I did my presentation no probs just the reflections Im having trouble with-knowing what to reflect on. In my first attempt I reflacted on what I had presented but this is obvs not correct. I am just about to start week 2 of a 2 week taster placement ( ON ORTHO) then I go back for 7 weeks in Sept, other than that its all been lectures.
  2. Have been using Gibbs, guess I need to make my reflections more personal.Only thing is the subjects I was allocated to feedback on, one was the signs and symptoms of labour, I find it odd to make that personal and reflect on my own labours. Is this what I am supposed to do?????? I understand reflecting on the clinical experiences but am struggling with these learning packs. Thank you all so much for your replies
  3. Enquiry based learning.
  4. Hi Guys, have not posted in a while but started my training in Feb and am confused as to what is required in my reflections for EBL, my AA has said mine are a bit generic! any advice would be much appreciated.
  5. Selection day was ok but scary in places! Have been told I will know within a week so 5 days left!!!! postal strike here today (am back in UK now) so frustrating to think letter may be being held. good luck to everyone. xxx
  6. Ok update from me. I have been shortlisted for the degree at the UEA and have interview on 31st July. Keep fingers crossed for me!
  7. Hi Sandie, Ok spoke with NHS direct about diploma/degree thing. There is no difference in the end qualification between the 2 but if you want to go on to do things like train nurses etc then the degree is preferable. I was told that if you just want to work as nurse then diploma is fine. Also entry requirements for degree may be higher depending on uni you go to.
  8. My understanding is that with deploma you get the bursary, and with degree its means tested.
  9. Ok so now I am worried!! My application went in on Sat for Norwich UEA for the degree. A whole bunch of people I know are looking to change from Diploma to degree, hope I have done it the right way round?
  10. springbokssa, So are you doing social sciences? this was what was offered at the college I used for the 2 year and the one year was life sciences, lots of chem etc! I am currently in New Jersey, came here in Oct last year for husbands job but we hate it so am going back in 7 weeks, got to finish my application today for nursing. I should be lucky as the uni I will use offer shorted couses for people with an NVQ level 3 in care which I also have so my training should be 2 years as I get to skip year 1. Also I have been working prior to moving here as an HCA in my local hospital on the bank, my contract is still open so I return to that. Best of luck, Lorna x
  11. Hi springbokssa, I did an access course last year and will be applying for the next intake in nursing. Good luck with the course.
