  1. Thank you all so much, this video is in first place :) all your clicks are certainly appreciated! Good luck on finals!!!:)
  2. I just wanted to say thanks again, our count is good. We have a week left... for the video thing that is! we'll have exams this week and next... and then FREEDOM for the summer :) I wish everyone good luck with end of the semester studies! :)
  3. hey, thanks guys!!!!!!:)
  4. you're not kidding!!! Thanks for the reply!
  5. it would just take a simple click (or two, or twelve!) on this link at youtube... it's a group project. An entertaining video on youtube regarding a specific topic had to be produced and uploaded, and the most hits wins. The group would be VERY grateful. You know how those group projects can be... sometimes difficult to find the time to work on them, navigating all the different ideas on what to do, etc. Thanks in advance for your help. And if you like, please tell all your friends, and maybe post it to your FB as a link?!?! The WHOLE group thanks you!!! :tku: Here's the link:
  6. hey there, thinking of you and wondering how you are doing???
  7. I've lost three. You need to take some time off, if you had any bleeding you'll want to rest up a bit and not overdo it. It takes time to heal the heart too.... I had great help from a infant loss grief support group. And my last loss was 2.5 years ago, but I still cry at times at the thought of what I had anticipated, that never will be. Thinking of you...:icon_hug:
  8. and let me try to at least answer your question! I seem to recall that the exact score depends on how many apply and where the "line" is, between the top candidates. So it varies. I know I scored high, but others scored lower and got in as well. Also, if you take it once and get a decent score (like in the mid 80s), if you keep taking it over and over, you may knock someone out of a slot/opportunity to take it, when you've got score that gives you a good shot at it. Does this make any sense?! late, tired, long day, etc...
  9. I don't remember what the score level was... but if you are going to take it, get a study book (one of the nursing school admission test study books) and practice thinking like a test! (you know, the wording, the choices, the way of thinking..) And take it as soon as you can. Slots fill up. Don't wait for the last slot, because if you don't do as well, you won't have time to take it in time for your application. Good luck!
  10. So, I've been nominated for a position as an officer for my nursing class, and this particular office is something I'd really like to do. However, I'm not one of the "spring chickens" at 45, so I really feel out of touch with some of the "cutesy" campaigns that I've seen in the past. I've got good credentials, my classmates like me (or if they don't I'm clueless because I seem to get along well with everyone, we have about 55 in our class) but I'm shy about tooting my own horn. Ideas? I ran for student council in 8th grade, and then for a student gov't. role when I was 17 and off to college for my first degree, but that's been a LONG time! Any ideas for some up-to-date campaigning? I'll post on webCT, Facebook. Help!! Elections are a week from today! Tia Kay
  11. Here's the link to the study about this. Our hospital does it as well. I don't mind the rounding; it's another habit and I'm in rooms enough but it's the replacement of the forms that I find irritating. It needs to be an administrative task vs. a nursing task, IMO...
  12. :up:I'm in my mid 40's too! best decade so far. It can only get better, it's been great so far. I've got two more years to go, graduating in Dec. 10. I've got post grad plans for another master's, and eventually hope to go for a doctorate. Learning is not tied to age :) you can DO it!!!!!!
  13. :yeah:Spring Break of 2011, a family cruise out to Hawaii and a few days in the islands! Can't wait!!!
  14. After a tough shift, or after a tough day, how do you wind down? I thought we might throw our ideas out there and maybe inspire each other! Let's see: 1. I get home at midnight, and this is perfect weather for a cup of decaf herbal tea and a snack. Of course, if I skipped the snack, maybe I'd drop a few pounds, but I'm HUNGRY when I get home! 2. Surf a few fave sites; facebook, allnurses, etc. What are yours? 3. Bury myself in brainless fiction. And yes I still read under the covers with a flashlight as my DH is sound asleep by the time I get home. 4. Once school is out, I've got my shows saved on DVR and I'm going to have a marathon TV vege-out in front of the tube day! What about you guys?
  15. I know it isn't possible while still in school, but I've met some amazing women, and we have a connection through another avenue not related to nursing school. While we can't be "buds" just yet, we are friendly, cordial, and we'll definitely become friends once I'm out of the curriculum. Granted, I'm an older student, and these are (age wise, etc.) my peers. But for now we're student and instructor. These are folks I'd be glad to have as friends. I've met some wonderful people in school, both students and instructors.
