  1. When I was accepted to nursing school I was given two Littman stethoscopes as gifts. One was the Classic II SE and the other was the 3000. Being a techno-nerd I started off (and stayed) with the 3000...and I love it. My hearing isn't as good as it used to be so this on is great. The Classic II SE is great I'm told, but it's collecting dust now. If anyone is interesed in a great deal on a new scope, send me a private message.
  2. Ha! Yeah, my gray hair will stand out. I'm going to try to do all my labs on Wednesday afternoons to cut down on the commute from Lafayette. How did you only get away with $200...the 4 books I bought on Amazon set me back $259. All of them brand new though. I did spend a lot on a stethoscope, bought an electronic one...I'm into the latest tech stuff. Also bought a PDA.
  3. Great input! I was also concerned with study time for the next class in the morning in case I had a test...which in my case would be patho on Tuesday AM. Thanks so much! Happy holidays to you and yours!
  4. Dan1100rt, I'm looking forward to it also and I am still trying to decide on when to take the labs (see my other post looking for some current student advise). Hope to meet you at orientation. TKBSN2b PS - Are you male or female? If your male like me we will stand out like a sore thumb I'm sure, ha! Do you own a BMW 100RT, just curious because I had the 1150RT model but sold it in the spring.
  5. I am starting the traditional BSN program in January and I have a question about the labs for NURS 3001 "Health Assessment" and NURS 3002 "Fundamentals of Nursing." Did you find it easier to take the labs the same day or do you think it is no problem taking it 3-4 days after lecture? I was thinking about taking the labs the same day of the lecture but it makes for an extremly long day. I have NURS 3001 on Monday mornings but I prefer to wait until Friday to take the lab. I'm just concerned that I would get more out of it the same day. Any opinions? Thanks in advance!
  6. Hello to all my fellow students who are attending the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in January 2008. I am enrolled in the traditional program and I wanted to start this thread so we can share any information, thoughts, ask questions, carpool potential, etc. I've been to the new Anschutz Medical Campus and it is awesome! Can't wait to get started! :welcome:
  7. I hope your first on the list of alternates. I let Regis know last Thursday by email that I was turning them down. Good luck! TKBSN2b
  8. Agreed. I am being offered a transfer scholarship at Regis but it isn't enough to make a huge difference in the tuition. So, I've decided that CU is the best option for me. I'm very grateful to have been given this opportunity and I am looking forward to UCDHSC's traditional BSN program in the Spring of 2008. Thanks for the feedback everyone!
  9. I don't know how often I would have to drive out to what is now called the "Anschutz Medical Campus," but I hear it is an amazing facility. At least they will have off street parking, ha! Good luck to you too! TK
  10. Yes, the one on Colorado Blvd., but I was told they will be at the new campus at Fitzsimmons by the time I start the program. Thanks for the input!
  11. Hello All, This is my first posting and a perfect time to ask everyones opinion. A little background on me: I completed all my prerequisites at Front Range Community College with a 3.97 GPA and an associate degree. I have been accepted into UCDHSC (Spring 08) AND Regis University's (Fall 07) Traditional BSN programs. Both are awesome schools and I would be proud to graduate from either, but I cannot decide which one. Besides the huge difference in tuition cost (Regis being more than double), any opinions on either school? If you had a choice, why would you choose one over the other? Please, all opinions welcome! Just FYI, I have to complete 6-9 additional credits at Regis during the program...is this feasible? Thanks for your input. TKBSN2b Many persons have the wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness.
