In regards to the question, u are right the Answer wasnt cover the eye the answer was use an aseptic technique. Which is not what Fetsco said in class! And thats why the entire class got it wrong and thats why Fetsco gave us the credit for that answer after the fact! I never said Lichson was a terrible school. Its a self teach school and it lacks a support system. Im an A student as well and its no help to the school. We can even get a reliable tutor for cryign out loud. No one should be expected to be spoon fed when its coming to schooling, but students should be properly taught. the school fails to forget that many of the students has no type of medical background. The types of exams we takes in high school or college was not critical thinkin based. Theres a lot of that in Nursing. But the school didnt teach or talk about "Critical thinking" in nursing 101. And guess what we had to teach our own selves about when a certain scenario takes place, what factors should we consider before drawing our conclusions.

Did anyone take the nln at LICHSON 4/18 ????
I asked both my professor and Advisor how long they will be interviewing the new student and she said all thru the summer. Classes resume August 18 so they probably be done in sometime in July. I was interviewed July of last year and classes began early august.

they need the money so this is why the sell us false hopes. Idk how many stuident actually apply to that school but there no way they supercede PBISON. And we just found out that 2 of their best teachers will not be teaching after this semeseter. Which is a real tragedy.

Do they have a syllabus so you can get an idea of what to expect as far as the reading material goes? They do provide you will a syllabus at the beginning of the semester. wht is taught in class usually does not reflect on the readings. When it comes to exams -- The exams are sometimes based off the slides that they give us and or what is spoken in class and sometimes the textbook. but again they are ALOT of contradiction btwn the book, their slides and the what is stated in class. Ex: In class the professor indicated that when there a pt has an obstruction in the eye. Do not touch it!... Cover it up and take them to the Dr. We had an exam question stating a pt had a pencil stuck in the eye, as a nurse what do we do? A. Do not take out the pencil, take the pt to the Dr B. some off the wall answer C Cover the eye using aseptic technique D. some off the wall answer Everyone chose A Guess what -- we all got it wrong she said the answer was c. Its what the book said. So we are argues the answer and played back the recording where she specifically said dont touch the object that is lodged into someone eye. this is what we have to go thru evrytime we take an exam or in class quiz.

No im not going to transfer for only one reason. My nursing classes will not be accepted elsewhere. It will be a total waste of money and time to leave now. I have done 2 semesters and have another 2 to go. I have no choice but to stick it out. Thankfully i have good study habits. I use alot of other resources to learn the material. But currently there are alot of students who are not doing so well. the day class started off with 112 students and they are down too 80+ if not less. There are alot of nurses who works at LICH hospital and the only advice they gave me was just pass. You will learn what you have to learn during orientation at what ever hospital that hires you. And in my opinion, thats bad!

Congrats on ur interview. those who are called in to the interview have alreaady been accepted. I am a current student at LICHSON and just to give you a heads up, the school is NOT a good nursing school. To just give u an overview of how the school and faculty operates. Everything is a complete chaos. The slides for the lecture are emailed to the students same day of class. Many times the slides that are sent to us does not correspond to the actual lecture. Some of the professors cant answer questions that students ask. There respons eis "Well i think ...... but don't quote me on it". Some of the professors (with the exception of the pharmacolgy teacher who is beyond excellent) reads directly off the slides word from word. 2. Alot of exam questions are contradicting. When a question is presented and they list the anwers, there is usually 2 right answers. Their lecture notes states one thing and the textbook says another. which means they end up double keying alot of questions. And there are times when ther eis no right answer and the professor wait last minute to tell the students, oh select any answer for question 12 casue there is no right answer there. For the first semester, we used to get a sheet that shows up the answers that that we selected for the exam. in the second semester they no longer give us those sheets. Sometimes they review the test, but it does not help much if the student does not know what questions u have wrong. when its time to be reimbursed money from overpayment of tuition or scholarships that was rewarded to you. It takes approximatly 5 - 6 months for you to get ur money back. You have to keep asking them over and over for you money and they always say 2 weeks and nothing. When there is a certain document or paperwork that needs to be turned in at a certain time, the student is notified the day of the deadline. The projector breaks down 85% of the time, so that leaves the student with no type of presentations to look at. Then there is more than one professor teaching a particular subject, which makes it very difficult to learn. Casue they all cant teach and they all have some sort of bizarre teaching styles. This school is a teach yourself school. You have to buy additional supplements to better graps the information thats presented to you. The teachers are of no help and there the school does not offer tutoring. They attempted to hire a tutor who ended up being a no show. the professors always request that you email them if u want to setup an appt to meet with them. They dont asnwer your email till towards the end of the semester. The attitude here is pass your class and run as far away from this school as possible.

Question For Beth Isreal and LICH Students
LICH: The ATOP program is only offered at Beth Isreal. Lich just started a evening program this past August. And students are only admitted to the evening progam during the Fall semester. The evening classes start at 6:00 pm and depending on the day it ends between 8:30 & 10:45 pm at night. The evening class is fairly small. There is 19 students in the evening program and about 90 students during the day. The clinical and lab professors are great. The professors who lectures are ok. I have had better professors. There are very helpful and if you needed additional tutoring they are willing to take time out to help you in your weak areas. Just note that this is a very competitive program. Before you enroll into the program whether if its day or evening. If you are interested in the evening program, certain courses such as Anatomy & Physiology I & II has to be completed prior to entering the program. In order to take the the two A&P classes in certain colleges biology and chemistry has to be completed first. The only tip I can offer you is where ever your decide to take your prerequisite courses -- make sure you obtain a B+ or better on your grades, because that becomes a determining factor of getting admitted into the program if your NLN score is not up to par.
