I got the good pop up (not the "your results are on hold" message) like an hour after!

Don't let the horror stories get to you. The jobs are out there, but just not as easy to get as it was a few years ago. I have friends who graduated 3 years ago and were offered awesome jobs, practically bribed by hospitals to join their new grad programs. I also have friends who graduated within the last year or more and are still looking for jobs. This scared me to death when I approached graduation in December. Yet I remained focused on two things: 1) looking for a job, 2) studying for NCLEX. Yes, doing both made me crazy, but I kept on. I got two great offers, and I have an ADN, have not taken the NCLEX yet, and these hospitals are in the Los Angeles area -- three factors everyone said are against new grads. Don't be discouraged! If this is something you want to do with your whole heart, you'll get there. Good luck in nursing school. It's awesome.

You are not alone. After finishing nursing school, first, be proud you accomplished that. I am also in the same boat, as my NCLEX date is approaching. My suggestion is to study side-by-side with classmates and friends. Get out of the house and do your questions in a library or a cafe. I have found this helps me. Build your stamina little by little. You can do 40 questions and then the next day do 50, and so on. Good luck to you!

How did your interview go?

I think that form is for out-of-state applicants transferring their certificates to California. I got my certificate last year, but I misplaced the certificate. I will call the Department of Health directly tomorrow, and I will post their response.

Does anybody know how to go about obtaining your CNA certificate number in California? Thanks!

I'm sorry. I was trying to type my reply before my boss got to my desk. Let me rephrase: chem, psych, and English must be completed before applying.

I believe prior applicants had to take a math test, but now all applicants must take the TEAS test. The three classes that must be taken before you enter the program are Chem, Psych 101, and English. The rest of the general education requirements are listed on their website, but you do not have to complete them before applying. They must be finished before you graduate. Good luck! :)

I am in the fortunate position of being accepted to an ADN program at Mount St. Mary's in Los Angeles. Do you have any tips for me, such as things to study beforehand, electronic gadgets to invest in, etc.? I'm so excited and in complete kick-ass mode! I start this fall!

I called this morning (yet again). The remaining letters are going to be delayed again until some time this week.

I (wishfully) think the letters they sent yesterday were the denial ones! Maybe we are in the clear. ????

MissCre, have you checked your WebAdvisor? I called admissions, and they said some letters were sent out yesterday. My WebAdvisor hasn't been updated yet, so they told me I will probably find out on Monday.

The decision letters have been delayed. We will hear from them at the end of this week, possibly next week, according to Admissions. Good luck everyone!

I believe it's $618 per unit. There are 81 units needed for the A.D.N., which includes prerequisites, but you do not have to take them the Mount. You can save yourself a lot of money by completing the prereqs at a community college.

Hi everyone! Although I did not apply for the ABSN program, but the ADN program instead, I have a question for the applicants. Did you receive your decision letter on time? I was told I would hear from them mid-June, but I'm sooo anxious to hear sooner.
