I have said the very same thing before! It will pass and things will become much more clear. I am saying this as I am closing in on about 7 months left. Once you find a routine you will see your family but I suggest finding a school family. I have spent so much time with a group of friends at school we have deemed ourselves fremaliy...friends that are like family. It takes the loneliness away and they can help you along the way. It is what has helped me through and just so you know I'm 39 doing this. My husband still has his moments and my 14 year old doesn't seem to notice. Hang in there, it will be worth it in the end!!!! So I pulled out the ND handbook and here is what I found... Impaired TISSUE integrity r/t altered circulation,nurtritional feficit or excess Ineffective HEALTH maintenance r/t deficient knowledge regarding self-care with abscess Ineffective PROTECTION r/t inadequate nutrition, abnormal blood profile, drug therapy,, depressed immune function Distrurbed BODY image r/t dysfunctional open wound Imbalanced NUTRITION: less than body requirements r/t biological factors or infection Impaired TISSUE integrity r/t woulnd presence of infection Now if you need any more ideas let me know I have gotten really good using this book and looking for alternative DX. We have had to use this all through school and always have to have the r/t with the DX. Hope this helps. Angie:clown:

I just wish I was drawn somewhere, so many just KNOW what they want. I liked the ICU but I want to more patient interaction. I love changing dressing and seeing how wounds heal I guess that I why I am thinking med/surg. I just never thought of myself as a med/surg nurse. My other concern is the nursing staff at one of the hospitals I could do med/surg at....they leave a lot to be desired to say the least. I think maybe that is what is holding me back on that choice. The other hospitals are smaller and I think won't keep my interest but the nurses on the unit I would like to go to are terrible, hateful and down right mean. I don't want to experience something I think I could like and end up hating it because of the people. I guess more comes out the more I think about it and talk about it. Now I guess I know the root of my dilemma so now what to do about it....hhhmmmmm Thanks everyone for listening to me vent!!!

I loved the ICU and dare I even say our Med/Surg rotation. I never thought I would be a med/surg nurse but I loved the variety. I work as a nurse intern on a cardiac/tele unit and I like that ok but it is the same thing day in and day out that is the only thing holding me back there. Wounds seems to be what interests me most, I love the burn unit but that isn't an option around here just yet, I have a loan keeping me in a certain hospital group for 2 years. I think I just sound more confused than ever now....LOL HELP ME!!!!! Still confused....hehehe Angie

Hi everyone! I am well into my next to last semester in my BSN program. We are set to start picking our capstone rotation for next semester and I have no idea what I want to do!!!!! Hello everyone! Well the semester just started and we haven't even been to class and we have a "study guide" due in my Adult Heath class. I don't even know how to start on a basic care plan, we haven't been to class yet, and we have a list of them to do. Can someone point me in the right direction? Here is a small portion of what is being ask.... Develop a care plan to manage the following symptoms in the dying patient fatigue management pain management dyspnea managementok that is a sample there are many more, so if anyone can give me just a glimpse of what it is they are asking me to do I would be deeply in debt.
