  1. I'm sorry- I know it's disappointing to not do well when you are used to being an excellent student. But those intensive summer courses are the worst! I had a similar experience. I was a great student in my first degree studies (English Lit), and A&P was the first course I took once I was accepted into a nursing program. I was so excited to begin nursing that I signed up for summer intensive A&P, and dropped out after the first week. I then took A&P I in the Fall, and even though the hours were better, I just was not ready/focused, and I got a C in the class. I took several years off school after that because I felt very discouraged. However, after all that time i realized I still really wanted to be a nurse, so a couple years ago I started going back to school (one class at a time, while working full time) to finish my pre-reqs. I finally completed the loathed A&P I and II this semester, and now I only have one more pre-req to take. I am even thinking of going back and re-taking A&P I. I was accepted into 2 excellent nursing programs, and am hoping to start one of them next Sept. Anyway, this has turned into a ramble- sorry- but my point it DON't BE DISCOURAGED, DON'T GIVE UP!
  2. Someone from the NYU office called me up two days ago to ask for my A&P grades (I just finished A&P this semester), which leads me to believe that they are busily preparing packets to send out to this September's Accelerated class... (well, hopefully). I asked the woman who called when to expect info regarding registration, and she just said that the info would be in the mail "Soon"....
  3. Are you by any chance going to NYU College of Nursing Accelerated program? I know that's what they say on their website. I wasn't sure what they meant either. I am just going to take the course there (they call it "Modern Chemistry" and it is 5 credits, and postpone starting the Accelerated Program til January. This postponement will also give me a chance to work and save some much needed $$$
  4. Hello there, I applied to the NYU Accelerated Bachelor's program, and am hoping to chat with current students in the program. Thanks! -Jen:nuke:
  5. Hello! Are there any other NYU Accelerated/2nd degree Program applicants on this forum? OR, current NYU program students? I submitted my application for the Fall, and am waiting to hear if I got in. I just want to chat/commiserate with other applicants. Good luck to all! Jen:confused:
  6. I have been working in a hospital for the past 5 years, but in purely non-patient related jobs. First I was an editorial assistant for a liver surgeon who write a lot of journal articles and book chapters, and currently I am the secretary to two psychiatrists. I learn about the workings of a hospital, but unfortunately do not get any patient contact except over the phone!
  7. Hi Paula, I am in sort of the same situation as you! I took A&P I five years ago, and this semester I am taking A&P II. It seems strange. It takes time to get back into the mindset of being a student again, but if you focus on your goal (i.e., becoming a nurse) it helps. Good luck with your class! Jen
