  1. I just got hired on as a graduate nurse in Muncie at a base rate of $19.50/hr. Shift deferentials: 3pm-11pm=$2.15, 11pm-7am=$2.73, weekend=$1.56. I'm not sure if I will get any increase after passing the nclex and becoming an RN.
  2. At Ball Memorial in Muncie they are giving them the option to stay on as a CNA or they can go back to school for a year to be a RN. They will reimburse them the money once they are done. I heard this from some poeple who work there.
  3. I'm planning on going in May but only because it is pretty much expected. Our instructors told us that they expected to see everyone at the pinning and whether we went to the college graduation was up to us. They said that nursing was losing some of it's traditions and this was an important one. Our class is getting a little out of hand. We were asked to fill out forms with our favorite color, song, movie, etc. I feel like I'm in high school. I'm sick of school and just want to be done. We are all wearing white scrubs and lighting candles. There is going to be a slide show with our baby pictures and nursing pictures and some clinical pictures. Whatever....I'm over it! I don't enjoy stuff like this but feel that it would be disrespectful not to go since it means alot to others.
  4. During my first year of nursing school, an elderly man coded on a fellow male student while giving him his bath. The student charted, "unable to arouse patient while performing perineal care."
