  1. Hi! I'm a new grad & I recently interview for an incredible job. The interview went well enough that I shadowed the next day... where I think I blew it. I appeared as if I didn't have a brain! I completely forgot all that I had been taught in school... and I'm certain the nurse I shadowed thinks I have the IQ of a 2 year old. Was this because of nerves? I don't know. I know that eventually I will be a good nurse... But what if I flub every interview & am never given a chance? Were any of you ever as insecure during interviews/shadowing as me? How did you get past it? :icon_roll
  2. amjowens - some Cleveland hospitals also have the policy of no LPN's...and the others are phasing out from what I understand. "I'm planning to hopefully work in a LTC while I work to earn my RN. At least I can try to positively affect a really vulnerable population. Also, I'll learn time management and be able to practice basic nursing skills. Not to mention learning to deal with delegating and working with other nurses effectively." What a positive view on working LTC!!! You are absolutely correct - thank you! MsKiesha - thank you for letting me know about Franklin Plaza! Do you work theree?
  3. Hello! I just took the NCLEX-PN yesterday, and passed! Woo-Hoo! I am so excited to find a job where I can help people, get great training, and not be left alone yet :) I live in Cleveland, Ohio, and don't know where to try to get in. I think I would love the diversity of a hospital, but I haven't seen any job postings for LPN's, only RN's... Does anyone have any suggestions? BTW, I also speak Spanish & would love to utilize it. Thanks in advance for any insights
  4. I live in Cleveland...on the westside. Very quiet over here. I send my children to a charter school & am very happy with the education they are receiving.

LPN @ Cleveland Clinic? That's great. What's your specialty? Does Cleveland Clinic hire many LPN's? Is the pay competative? Are there many opportunities for learning?

Thank you sooo much! I most likely will be attending Central School of PN...for financial reasons I must wait until '08, but I feel much more comfortable now knowing it is such a great school. Good luck to your neice!

Wow - That sounds like a great education. I requested info to be sent to me & will probably visit the school next week. Do they offer IV therapy edu? I couldn't find anything about that on the web...
  8. Hi! Has anyone attended or heard of Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (located in Brecksville)? They have a 9 month LPN program I am interested in. Thanks for any input!

Thank you for the reply! It sounds like you attended Central School of Practical Nursing & enjoyed it... is there another reason you know of to consider CSPN instead of Marymount?

Hello! Does anyone have info regarding Marymount School of Practical Nurses? What kind of job opportunities are available in the Cleveland area for LPN's? Thank you for any input!
  11. State of Ohio - self employed, bill Medicaid - $12/hour
  12. I called the Ohio Board of Nursing...they did approve & accredit the program at Bryant & Stratton.
