Hey! We did start off with 20, but one lady quit the first day of orientation. Then another person dropped down to the 2 year program because she was trying to have a baby and had a lot of personal things going on. Yeah, the program requires a PDA but just for clinicals. But truthfully, a lot of us regret buying the PDA's because the hardware and software was expensive and you could very well do without it. I used free software from the internet and bought my PDA from a guy off craigslist.com.

hey congrats guys! yeah, they picked 40 of you guys, and dont worry, all 18 of us who are graduating in May will be meeting with you all at the end of next month and will give you all the HONEST advice and heads up that you need. We are a talkative group so prepare to get more advice than you anticipated. Plus, we will be selling our books to you guys cheaper than the book store, so I would suggest to just relax and have as much fun as possible now, because believe me when I say you hit the floor RUNNING in the BACC-2 program! Oh yeah, and make sure you have some money saved up so you wont stress yourselves about income! I hope you all have made (or are making) plans about living as close to the med center as possible because parking (AND traffic AND gas prices) is TERRIBLE!!!

Hey Ben franklin, Congratulations on making it into the accelerated program! We are just finishing up our year and I cannot wait to pass the torch to you 40 newbies...Prepare to be VERY FLEXIBLE because you will have a hard time in the program if you are not flexible. See you next month at the informational! You will know its me cuz I will be the 6 foot girl who talks really fast and is soo excited about becoming a trauma nurse...and my name is pretty unique too...

What I've liked best about nursing school so far is the fact that I am successfully learning all this infromation in only a year. I am proud of myself for how well I am doing in this program, despite its fast pace. What I dont like about nursig school is the fact that I am poor at the moment (lol!) but I am looking foward to the future of making goood money as a nurse. Advice for you guys coming in is to make sure you WORK TOGETHER! As far as splitting objectives (the study guides for each test) amongst each other and sharing any information with each other has really helped us as a group. Remember to stay calm and have flexibility because things dont always go as planned in this program. You need to be okay with getting a B, and make the best of every situation and every opportunity to learn. This is such a fast paced program that you sometimes feel as if you are just studying to pass each test and you are not really retaining the material. I would suggest keeping each study guide and going over the material periodically throughout the year. Well, I would write more but I have to study for a huge test tomorrow. Those of you who make it will have plenty of time to meet with us and get all the advice and buy our books But if you have any burning questions, feel free to ask! What time is your interview? Like I said, we will not be on campus from 9 till about 3 at the latest, but if your interview starts later, than I will surely come back to the school and talk to you guys.

Hey Ben Franklin! Are you interviewing for the BACC2 program? I am part of the class that graduates this May and if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! We will all be off campus that day doing our Community Health clincal so, unless you are on campus around 3pm, we wont have the opportunity to talk to all those interviewing. By the way, there is only one round of interviewing that you go through for the accelerated program, so you have only 1 chance to make that good impression. They will be taking 40 students this May, which is double the amount of people they chose last year. This means that they will be bringing in 20 less students into the 2 year class. They recieved about 500 applications to the accelerated program and they are only interviewing 120 people for the 40 spots, so you have come a long way already! Having a backup plan is a terrific idea, but even if you recieve a rejection letter, continue with your pre-req classes because there were people who were accepted after recieving rejection letters.
