  1. The rotavac is already causing some problems with kiddo's bowels. The old roto vaccine was pulled off the market I think in1999 for the same thing. CDC putting out warnings. We're not giving it now-kinda waiting to see if this one is pulled.
  2. She may have to repeat the Dtap again ( believe it or not). When immunizations are given at incorrect times(too early) their immunity titers are not fully developed from the previous immunization. With all vaccines the varibles are many. Even if all vacccines were given by the book, titers are the only true way of knowing just how good our vaccines are. Kinda scary, huh?
  3. Do you have alot of reactions using the pedirix? We use to use it but quit, due to high temps and screaming kids. We give up to 5 injections at a time, 3 in one lat and 2 in the other spaced 1 inch apart. You mark which site each immunization was given ( up. down, mid)to track any reactions. I do hate sticking the wee ones 5 times though!
  4. We had 3 different types of flu vax this year. I have 25 years experience, my Dr. 17 years in and we were both dazed and confused with the flu vax this year. Next year, we need a new plan!!! Prioratize, take care of the patients in your office first (they're paying your salary that day), slow down and take a deep breath. It gets better. I love working in my crazy peds/AI's office. I have fun every day!
  5. I work in a busy peds office where we see a bunch of cranky, constipated kids/babies every day. Miralax works great and it doesn't work like a tradional laxative so it's not habit forming. Karo in the bottle, Baby Lax OTC and giving an addtional 4 oz of water per day can all be helpful. If a child gets 'backed up' they tend to hold it in cause it hurts to 'poop'. Holding it in = bigger, painful poops= more holding in. Cran grape worked like a charm for my kiddo! Good luck!
