   Does anyone use a patient acuity system? My nurses feel like the acuity of their patients have increased so much that the normal ratio they are used to now feels unsafe to them... with battleing with the patient flow from the er when we have open bed...

   Our charge nurses do patient rounding, audit all isolation daily, making sure all protocol is in place, post beds for admissions, look over daily and day after staffing, sometimes helps to make calls, watch over tele and strips of our nurses not yet ...

4. What is your nurse to pt ratio....and how many is too many?

   is the 4:1 total primary nursing? we have 6 or 7 patients but have techs doing all the adls, we even have advanced techs that can place foleys and do dressing changes... but the unit is always hoppin!
