  1. There is a big difference between IT and nursing. You must love to work directly with people to be a good nurse. There are a lot of nurses out there that just want a job. If that's your goal then go into IT.
  2. I had no trouble getting an RN job nor did my classmates who actively looked. Some of them just stayed at the nursing homes they were already working at. I am working in the NICU at ACH but I could have made more money almost anyplace else.
  3. I graduated from Galen this past Feb. Their GE classes are not yet accepted at any other schools but several private universities, U of Tampa and South University, for sure, will accept their nursing credits. I am over 50 and it took me 30 years to go from LPN to RN so I am not concerned about getting my BSN. I went to Galen because it was only 12 months including GE classes, the only prereqs were an LPN license (they did check your program to make sure it compared with theirs) and an admission test. It was well worth it for me. The program is tough and it is very difficult to keep up and work too much. I only worked 1 day/week while I was in school.
