Knoxville Tn
I am RN with 15yrs experience. 8 yrs recent research about 7 yrs women services mainly Postpartum care /newborn nursery and a few yrs medsurge. My husband has oppurtunity in Knoxville and Irvine california. I am not to thrilled with the knoxville oppurtunity as the nursing oppurtunities are not plenitful as well there are no oppurtunties for me to work in Research not unless I commute to Nashville Tn. Irvine California is wayyyyyyyyyyy expensive and I do believe there is alot of competition for jobs out there. I would like to know about the job oppurtunties in Knoxville Tn and the area. Are there things to do there? It just doesnt seem that appealing to me but not ready to totally dismiss the town. Thanks

possible Relocation To southern california
I am a RN/BSN with 15yrs nursing experience the last 8yrs in Research and 7 yrs in Womens services mainly Postpartum care/newborn nursery and a few yrs Medsurge. What is the job outlook in Southern California? Husband has an oppurtunity in Irvine California and we are thinking of settling in Mission Veijo. Does it take a while to find employment? I have read some threads where it is taking new grads up to 1yr or more to find work. Any adivce you could give would be appreciated Thanks

please help
You dont need certification to work on a Research unit in the Hospital. I worked for both Emory Clinical Research Unit and on trials at Duke and they didnt require Certification. To be certified with SOCRA or ARCP you need documented two yrs experience working in Research before you can even sit for the test. I would suggest you find out if your hospital has a unit that specifically focuses on Clinical trials. Clinical research Centers usually are located in any university hospital and both see medsurge and research patients. Get your experience here and then apply for a coordinator positon within the syste. Good Luck

Source Documents
I am confused about Source Documents. After reading a protocol I am in the process of making a day to day order sheet for each visit. Basically to help me with what I must do at each visit. Is this a source document? Or are only info off the medical record consider source documents? Also as far as SOPs. Are there standard documents you should have before study start up? SOP on informed consent, shipping specimens, traing staff etc what are the standard ones you should have. Thanks
