  1. We use the ATI to prepare students. It is very expense and Im not sure it really does then any favors. Mary E
  2. Hi I am a brand new nursing instructor this semester and it's been very tough. Hours and hours of time is spent on writing lectures to give to students who just wont listen. Sometimes I think I may just like the punishment "thingy". Or my husband thinks so, to subject myself to these hours. The other teachers are constantly reassuring me that its always hard the first semster but its gets easier as you go.
  3. Your message meant alot to me. New teacher and the students are brutal. They have decided that they should not have to take a geriatric class because they already had this info in pathophys. How do you get their attention. I called on one student and he accussed me of trying to embarass him?
  4. I worked nursing homes before med/surg over 8 yrs ago. New to teaching. Having problems trying to figure how to work this site. I really enjoy teaching but just learning how and writing lessons is about to send me up the wall.
  5. I am also a new Geri teacher in BSN program. I just wish there had been a lecture bank to draw from occasionally. It takes hours upon hours to write new lectures, and I still work every weekend at the hospital. No days off for me. Ive been told it should not take this long but Im alittle anal in that I have to know something before I teach it.
  6. I would like to know what new nurses or students feel about the ATI exams? Not sure what was wrong with the way I studied for NCLEX = I passed, I had to study my butt off. Mt students have nothing good to say about the ATI so far.
  7. I teach BSN students in geri and am very new at this and very overwhelmed. I was not trained in education but with a MSN they think I can do this. Maybe they are just so desperate they took me. I need good resources for class.
