Hi, The big focus on turnover time is not always the best for the pt. We are a small staff doing open heart cases.20-25 minutes is average for our group.BUT the patient is brought in before the room is completely set up,haven't interviewed the patient and the counts are not done yet and the patient sees us running around like chickens.As a circulator I start the cases playing catch up.I not saying turnover time is not important because it is but I feel patient satisfaction and safety is more important.Any ideas???

We use Actiprep, which is Ethyl Alcohol 73% w/w and we use for all areas.We have great zero infection rate for sternal wounds.

Hi, Looking for feedback on call pay.We get $2.50 hr plus the time and half.The kicker is we are a small group so we end up taking a week at a time.So in a nutshell everyother weekend we are on house arrest.We have been trying for a while to get it raised, because the cath lab is making $5.00 hr.Any helpful suggestions? Hi, I have a quick question and would love feedback.When you have bovie pad cords that hang on the floor or near it,I have seen towels placed over the cords.Is it acceptable?What does the AORN recomend?Thanks
