Dark Hour of Duty
I am a Christian Nurse who is working in a multicultural organization. There are mixed of religious beliefs; but the majority are Muslims. One day, while I am having fellowship with Jane; Carmi who is a theater staff called up; in between her crying voice she is telling that Jon who is a theater staff also is ruining her reputation by telling other staffs that she is a “PLASTIC”. I told Carmi to control her emotions because it is very unnatural that Jon is creating a division in the theater. That day, we pray specifically for the staffs involve and the unit. After few days, I talk to Jane and she told me this horrifying story. Jane is night duty with Carmi. At around 0200H Carmi decided to refill the instrument trolley in her assigned theater. So, Carmi went to the main instrument room to gather the materials needed for the following day. As she entered the dimmed lighted room she heard someone who is typing in the computer keyboard, she heard first four ticks; she called Jane thinking that she is the one inside the instrument room. Nobody answered, so she slowly walked inside and heard the next six ticks of the computer keyboard. She saw a black image without face seated in front of the computer. With strong urge in her heart, she confront the black image by pointing her finger telling at the same time this powerful word; “Who are you? You get out of this place. I am not afraid of you because I am the daughter of the Living God”. After that, she runs as fast as she can in the pantry room where her colleagues stay and have their break. That day, we gather as a group to pray fervently for the patient, doctors, nurses and all the staff who handled the patient during the surgery. We pray also for the relationship of each staff to be bound with love to one another. It is a spiritual reality; “our struggle is not against the flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12 NIV). We should understand and keep in our heart that as a nurse the life of our patient is in our hands. We should not only be a patient advocate in physical setting but also in spiritual realm.

Clinical Instructors and lecturers with no hospital experience?
Hi to everybody! After 10 years of working in the hospital setting, I worked as a Clinical Instructor for a year thinking that I can survive from that amount that I earned, sad to say it is not enough. In my experienced 2 years ago as CI, I can say that "Experienced is the best teacher", especially if you worked overseas from an organization that is accredited by the JCI. You can teach your students even without reading a book....

NCLEX Takers Support Thread
"TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THINE HEART; AND LEAN NOT UNTO THINE OWN UNDERSTANDING. IN ALL THY WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE SHALL DIRECT THY PATHS" Proverbs 3:5-6 I am scheduled to take my exam on September, I just follow Suzanne4 tips and I just review on my own. I am on duty for 12 hours/day and I don't have that much time to review, I just pray, and if it is really God's will, I can pass the exam even though I don't review in a center which is not available in my location now. GOD BLESS TO EVERYBODY!

Do you call your physicians by their first name?
hello to everybody! since i start working, i used to call them "dr". i've been working with arab doctors for a long time and i think they dont like the idea that a nurse will call them by their first name, though for me it is much better so we can build harmonious relationship. now, here in my present hospital, they hire some canadian nurse managers to train the staff in all aspects of patient care, and they keep on telling to some of our collegue who are under their supervision to call the doctor by their first name.... any idea which is much better? or i should say, it must be the latest trend. let thy words be few. -- [color=#cc99cc]ecclesiastes 5:2

Med-Surg Roll Call
Hello everybody, I've been working as a med-surg nurse since graduation, truly it is a rewarding situation if you'll see all the wounds heal without any complication.Like as what other collegues say, lower back pain and thick soles are most of the rewards.....

nurses in dubai salary rate..help
Hi! Hospitals here will not consider your US license, what is important for them is you have the experience, you have enough knowledge and you can easily adapt to the environment. Why not continue working there for at least a year to learn more. I dont want to discourage you but this place is not as good as you are expecting, so be prepared.
