Oklahoma City Community College
I don't know much about the BADNAP program as it's the first year...Susan Mann will be heading that program and I had her for NPI and I can vouch for her being a good instructor...I would say your best bet would be to head on down to the school M-F, the health professions offices are open all summer and they can provide you with any help you will need...I have heard that it will be a VERY intense program. Hope this helps!!

Which program are you asking about? LPN to RN Bridge program or the Baccalaureate to ADN program (BADNAP)?

CNA nursing students.........
I just finished my first semester at OCCC's nursing program and I decided to take a job as an aide to gain experience and help with future semesters...I would NEVER take a job in a nursing home, I've been there and done that ten years ago and I can tell you that there is a very low ratio of nurses to aides to learn very much from. I work at Baptist as an OPT employee, I don't get benefits but I do get to state how much or how little I can work. I've found the hospital experience to be very helpful. It's not fun work or well paid, but it can be very rewarding and I think it will really pay off next semester. Hope this helps.

Rose State? wondering if im on the right track
One of the nurses I work with says she had a good experience at Rose, I don't know much more about it but I do know that having your CNA can bump you up in "preference points" to help you get into a program.

hospital jobs
I am a first semester RN student and I'm trying to get my foot in the door at a hospital in OKC...does anyone have any experience they can share on what sort of jobs they worked as students? I don't really know what I should apply for...nurse recruiters aren't interested YET, and I'm having a hard time navigating hospital web sites...is it better to apply in person or online? Any suggestions would be welcome...Thanks!

OCCC and Rose Students/grads
I am a current student at OCCC in Nursing Process 1...I was accepted with I think 16 or 17 preference points and a 3.46 GPA but I was tenth alternate...there were a lot of people to get in after me as well. If you don't get right away don't let it get you down! The staff is great! The only complaint I have is things seem a little backward...we learned sterile technique right off the bat before we learned how to do basic vitals...also the test questions are a little vauge....aside from a few kinks I'm enjoying the class as well as the instructors!
