Thanks, Tweety. That definitely gave me a different perspective about it.

change from telemetry pm to medsurg am?
Do you think it would be prudent for me to leave my job at a telemetry unit (night shift) for a medsurg unit (day shift)? I want to live a "normal" life for my health. Nothing compares to a good night's sleep right? But my telemetry unit is too crazy for me to handle. I think medsurg would be an easier load. I think my health and sanity is more of a priority than working at a "specialized unit" which isn't where I wanted to work at in the first place. What do you think? halabira :sstrs:

Let's introduce ourselves...
hi fellow nurses! I am on my second week of working as a RN. I am on a new grad program and im on the Cardiovascular Definite Observation Unit. ive been on the floor once and it was such a nightmare! i was confused, i felt disoriented, i was having a headache, i felt so incompetent and felt like i knew nothing and didnt even go to nursing school! may God help me in this transition and may we all be empowered by God who gives us strength. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." -philippians 4:13

its my turn to say: I PASSED!!!! (a Philippine graduate)
thanks to all of u..i wasnt expecting anyone to reply or even read my post! hehe.. i now have a california license but im applying for an endorsement to nevada coz i live here now. i called the nevada bon, and they said, for international graduates, when i send my application, i have to send a copy of my transcript with it. if they see something wrong, then thats the time when im required to undergo the credentials evaluation services report. so i hope this wud offer anyone help. for jpmbrn, yea, mabuhay ka rin! urc's da best! just memorize all that ma'am anaski says and all the other reviewers. they'll provide u wid all the info u need. including the much dreaded pharma. u dont need to memorize all, just the basic. and it depends on the computer if it notices that ur bad at pharma, it'll give u more and more questions then. in my case, i only had 3 questions on drugs. while ur still waiting for that, i recommend u to practice questions on the saunders cd, do 100 a day and the kaplan cd too. english only please.

its my turn to say: I PASSED!!!! (a Philippine graduate)
u dont know me, but i am certainly not the type who would pass the NCLEX as an international graduate, for the first take, at 75 questions. know wat my secret is? faith in God + action. i prayed, prayed, prayed, studied Saunders (read the book and did 100 questions per day), read the Kaplan book (all about test-taking strategies), and enrolled at Universal Review Center (located at Guadalupe, Philippines). may God help u those who are reviewing for the exam. remember to do your best, and God will do the rest. wen i say best, u gotta force yourself to study even if u dont want to. put aside watching television and what u like doing. well u cud do that during rest periods which u do need. but u gotta cut-down. prioritize the nclex exam, and once ur through with it, u cud do whatever u want. so this is it, thanks for reading my thread. God bless.
