  1. Thank you! I wrote it in Vancouver, BC. I do not know what the difference is between provinces but I am sure yours is coming soon. It is in a big white envelope, at least here in BC. I hope that you can celebrate too! Good luck!
  2. I have received my result today(26. March). I was surprised because it has not been 7 weeks that I wrote the CRNE. I passed it for the first try!! I am so happy but also nervous if I really know that much?!!??
  3. I am counting the weeks too and it is very hard to keep cool. For days I can put the issue out of my mind but there are days I am in a panic mode.Did I answer this question right or not?!? My tutor said that in February there are less students sitting for the CRNE, therefore it takes less time to get the results. So maybe it is "only" 10 weeks or so instead of 12 weeks. Who knows but I feel that even 6 weeks would be long enough to get the results. When I told my family and friends that it would take 12 weeks to know if I passed or failed they all looked at me in disbelieve and horror.
  4. I went through a nurse refresher course and a qualifying course in Canada and I was focusing on med-surg,pedi,OB and some community nursing, communication before the exam for a long time.I studied like I was working and more. Still I am wondering what am I going to study if I fail. How am I going to prepare for the subjective, vague questions. I went to a tutor as well before the exam and she gave us general instructions like what to look for in a question, how to analyze it. However many times I had no clue about what they were really after. I am sure if someone finished nursing school in Canada, this exam is a piece of cake. Previously, I thought that a refresher course would also prepare the poor souls better for CRNE. However this is not the case. I wonder if the nursing schools'teachers are giving the pool of questions to CNA.
  5. I wrote my exam yesterday and I was very tired and dizzy by the end of the day. We had 121 MC and 32 short answer questions AM and the same for PM.. Lots of questions from Health Promotion, patient teaching, abuse. Not much lab values at all! Yes the questions are very textbook like and many times I had to reread the questions because I did not get the core of it.Try to sit close to the window where there is lots of natural light(remember it is a long day) and avoid being too close to the front because when people are coming out with there papers to hand in at the end of sessions it can be very disturbing. I had to ask for another table because of that. I had no clue about passing or failing the exam and if I fail it I do not even know how to get better after all that studying. At the moment I am relieved that it is over and the rest will come in 12-15 weeks.
  6. I also payed for those Certinurse tests but I am not satisfied with them. It is a waste of money. It does not even include community nursing at all.I am going to take the test next week in February, 2007 and I feel like I am preparing for a philosophy/political science test not for a nursing test. Everything is about words and many of the questions seem elusive. Even if I studied continuously for month I am not confident thatI know what I should know.
  7. Thank you Jay-Jay!I just printed your suggestions out so I can always keep it in mind when I study. Come to think of it that is the only thing I do nowadays besides doing some grocery shopping and cleaning. Happy New Year to you and everyone on this website!
  8. I am going to take CRNE in February 2007. Since I am a foreign nurse, I decided to read Canadian books from all nursing specialty, take preparatory course/tutor, NCLEX-RN questions and CRNE's Blue Print. All this after finishing a refresher course. Contrarily to these, I still feel like drowning and maybe not studying what will be asked.I read the previous postings which suggested to get ready for lots of community health nursing but it is a quite broad spectrum suggestion. Would someone suggest some topics I should focus on when I review community nursing, please? I feel like knowing nothing. Maybe I know nothing?
