  1. ni our unit we calculate at 1ml/kg/hour also....hope it helps
  2. we ask the mothers to bring over new fluffy towels and we put them around the babies to form a nest...this helps the motehrs of small premmies who feel helpless most of the time....in the emantime it helps by providing self quieting behaviors conserving energy whih is so important for preterms....you can also get some ideas from the book written by Janine Young in 1996 developmental care of the premature baby ....hope you will find this useful
  3. to be truthful I never wanted to work there...but I was Just posted there 15 years ago......now I am hooked....I love the tiny little feet of premies...the smiles and truthful thank yous of parents.....all babies large and small with thier different charectrs which they show from start....you just cannot help loving them and giving all that you know to achieve maximum care
  4. I am new to this site and I also work in an NICU in my country.......the loss of a baby is too big to explain....so yearly we do a rememberance mass which we happen to be celebrating tonight.....we will keep you both in our toughts and prayers
