I am a nursing student. The coursework is hard and the instructors are responsible for preparing students to be nurses. Not all patients will be pleasant. It's a good time for your daughter to decide if she wants to deal with people who may treat her like dirt. Nurses typically see people at their worst. The stress of illness often causes people to behave in ways they normally wouldn't. It may not be fair or nice the way this instructor deals with your daughter, but maybe her concern is that being so young, your daughter hasn't had a lot of life experience to teach her that some people are just difficult. Maybe this instructor is not only teaching your daughter the curriculum, but also how to handle herself professionally, with dignity, to respect those in authority, and not to take things personally. I am considering flight nursing and have been told you need both er and icu experience. Which one should I start getting experience in first?

Our ADN program requires a 79% average on the tests, less than that and you fail the course. If you have that, then other assignments are added to your overall grade which can raise or lower your final grade. Math tests are not included in the final grade:crying2: . You have 5 attempts to pass those with 2 wrong or less.

I suggest doing the RN. In my state, you can take the PN boards after completing the first two semesters of an ADN program if you choose. :)

I am a 1st semester nursing student doing my clinical rotation on an ortho/neuro unit. I am looking for advice on how to chose a specialty after graduation. I know I'll have several more clinical experiences, but I won't even come close to seeing all that nursing has to offer. I've asked my instructors and they tell me "you just know." I'm anal and want something more to go off of than my gut. I want to get a nurse intern position after this semester and would like it to be heading in the direction of my future specialty. Thanx!!!!
