thanks for your input..I decided to get on with it. I hope and pray it will be worth it in the end. I've read good stories about excelsior graduates and I hope I could be like one of them some days.

I took those courses as part of the LPN program..so you mean to say that if those general ed courses are part of the LPN program they will not be credited for the ADN program and I have to take them again? In that case I will be writing about 20 exams to finish Excelsior ADN program...any thought....

I have a questions for you guys who previously were LPN. I wonder if some of your LPN general courses like Anatomy/Phsiology, Lifespan Development, Sociology etc...were credited to your ADN program in Excelsior. Excelsior did not credit mine and I have to take them again...I already enrolled and paid 895 and cannot withraw the money anymore. I wonder if it is wise for me to continue....I thought all the while that I only have to write the nursing component exams considering that the general ed courses were already taken. Any feedback please...I don't know what to do...I don't want to go to traditional school here in Toronto and bridge for 3 year from LPN to BSN because Canada stopped the ADN program.

Hi dayshiftnurse, I am currently a student of George Brown College in Toronto Practical Nursing program. I am in the third sem now and hoping I could get into the 4th sem this summer. I was just wondering how you get into excelsior and is it worth it. Colleges here in Toronto are offering bridging program to BsN but takes 1 year for bridging and another 2 years for BsN in Ryerson University. I am afraid I don't have the time to go back to University anymore. I wanted to go to work as RPN and study for RN if possible. I thought of the Excelsior but I don't know how to go about it. I am also willing to move to the states if I have to. Could you give me some feedbacks if it is worth going to EXcelsior, how much did it cost you? could you finish the program in just 1 year?

I just called the Athabasca about the program and they told me that it would take me 3 and a half years to finish the program full time. That means, not working full time. If it would take me that long, I guess I would rather consider Ryerson. Excelsior, I've learned is the fastest way to become an RN and I could work in all the states except california, right? It is a major career change for me from Engineering to Nursing, that's why I want the fastest route to RN and the possibility of working in the US because I want to move to a warmer climate. Any input please....I'm confuse right now.

Hi, I have questions for experienced nurses working in Canada and US. 1. I'm currently a student of George Brown College in Toronto (practical nursing program). I would like to proceed to BSN after writing the board exam for RPN but I don't know which online school is good because I would like to work fulltime while studying for the BSN. I've heard about Athabasca University, but I'm not sure if it is really good compared to Excelsior college. And how long does it take to finnish the BSN from RPN. 2. If I am licensed by the board here in ontario (BSN from Athabasca), Can I work in California?
