I need a pep talk...badly!!!
I agree with the advise from santhony44. My instructors are very easy to talk to about anything, I think they are going to start charging me by the hour. LOL!! Although it must be hard being away from your son but keep in mind your doing this for him. I could share a long story on my way of getting to where I am with my four children but maybe some other time. I do believe that one day he will understand and thank you for all you've went through for him. Good luck and best wishes!!

Need some info on my sons trip to ER
i'm in my last semester of nursing school and can't for the life of me understand what the dr. was telling me when i took my son to the er this morning. he is 18 and has been experiencing sinus arrythmias, orthostatic hypotenstion, severe headaces and also has a heart murmur. the one thing i don't quite get is he has been having what he calls blackout spells. he doesn't black completely out he says for about 10 seconds he sees nothing but black and then it goes away. the dr. gave him iv fluids, did a cat scan and all his blood tests were normal?? does anyone know what could cause this? she thinks this may have something to do with "dehydration"?? i'm not so sure. :stone she did refer him to a cardiac specialist and a neurologist but says everything seems to look ok. can anyone give me any advise? it would be greatly appreciated.

Right way to study?
I had so much trouble picking out the right answer out of two, just as you my whole second semester in medsurg. Now I've learned if you know your (APIE) assesment, planning, interventions and evaluation for each situation it's a great plus. I had to repeat the class in second semester because I couldn't take or know how to take the instructors test. It was a great setback but it worked out for the best. She gave me this advise and now it's so much easier. Good luck and let me know if it helps. DeAnna

HESI...fun
I'm in my last semester of LPN school and this is the first time we've heard of the Hesi test. The second semester has to take it too but we didn't in our 2nd. This is the first time our school is having us take this exam and I am wondering is this something new to everyone??? What exactly is the test for? Someone told us that if we passed Medsurg but not the Hesi we couldn't graduate??? Is this true?
