  1. Well...let me tell you...it's difficult to compare cause it's the only program I know, but if you're looking for knowledge you can use, well, let me just tell you our clinicals consisted of one day a week and that usually translated into 4 hours of actual patient contact...no meds, of course...or rarely. Lots of emphasis on "community", in fact you'd better learn how to insert the word "community" into every one of your papers, and there are lots of those. Wrote a few papers on spirituality, too, that's useful :chuckle I have come to find out that most BSN programs are heavy on papers and light on practical things that you can use. I gotta say, though, it felt like a very small place cause the classes were usually 15-20 people (no napping allowed) and frankly if it weren't for my three very close buds, I woulda left outta there screaming all the way. The fulltime program is completely geared for the daytime, so you pretty much give up whatever else it is you are doing during the week, cause you are really busy!!!!!!!!! Well, let me know if you have any other questions, I just sort of rambled on... :)
  2. I'm seriously considering taking a job in the ER (6p-6a), 900 bed hospital. I've never worked in the ER before, just got my license in 2001, and I'm 42, although I don't look a day over 41...I do have one yr in ICU...among the 1001 questions I have, though, the most pressing one is can anybody recommend a great shoe??? I have wide feet, but of course I'm lookin' for the most comfortable shoe i can find!!! :rotfl:
  3. I'm doing a resume' update, been an RN since June 2001, worked in critical care and homecare...my question is, how does one go about a brief description of one's job i.e., is it really necessary to list some/most of the tasks? More importantly, do you guys know of any good resources to do a great resume'??? Any help would be welcome :) LD
