  1. 1. FL 2. 6 years experience 3. OR in large hospital 4. 29.50$ hr on day shift 5. $3.50 diff for evening (after 7 pm) 6. non union.
  2. What can I tell you? The program is kind of tough at the beginning, mostly the critical thinking part. You can failed critical thinking over a word or any other silly little thing. The good thing is you can retake it Believe me, you can do it. English is not my primary language and I had a little boy (2 years old) when I was in school. I never study from friday night to saturday night ( for religious issues) and did well. Nobody failed the accelerated program after pharmacology which end in march or april if you start in january. yes it was stressfull specially clinical. Sometimes, you'll fall behind, and your only option will be to try to catch up. Do not miss class, take notes, read the powepoint lecture and your book. Come on, if you go to class, you will know what to focus on when reading the book. I graduated in december 2006 and actually I work in the OR. If I had to do it again, I will go to the accelerated option instead of generic.
  3. I know that once you are aware that you're pregnant, you can request not to work with bone cement but Had anybody been pregnant without knowing it yet and been exposed to bone cement in the OR?
  4. we do not inflate the balloon also because we only use silicone latex free catheter and the urologist came with this policy
  5. As of June 2008, we do not test the balloon in the OR where I work
  6. I graduated from the AO program in December 2006. It is true the first semester was hard, 20 students failed and most of them failed critical thinking. But once pharmacology was over at the beginning of the second semester, nobody else failed any other class. At least 25 of us made it to the end, so stop scaring people by saying "I can't think of anybody that is graduating from the accelerated program with their class...every one of them has been held back for at least one semester".
  7. It is illegal (or abnormal) if the hospital accepts a GN who failed the NCLEX to continue to work as a nurse.
  8. I am a new grad and I like to go to OR. I live in florida and all the OR job offer say " CNOR preferred". How do I get into a Perioperative nursing course. I tried to see if I can find one online but without success. Any advice?
